Ice Skating Spin Trainer

Great way to practice ice skating spins
This spinner works very well! It's small, just big enough for your foot (or even most of your foot, not all, if you're an adult). My daughters, ages 8 and 7, are semi-serious figure skating students and their coaches recommended this for practicing spins at home. It definitely helps, and it's fun! They use it often. It spins freely and smoothly when someone stands on it -- it's stiff if you just spin it with your hand, which is as it should be. You need to be on it, and it helps that the small size forces you to be up on the ball of your foot a little, like in actual skates. Handy and useful!

I really like it- gets me used to the motion of spinnning so I don't get too dizzy on the ice...but I didn't really think the fixed floor position through... it's much harder than the spinners that travel with your foot and not a great representation of what true spinning is like. It's fun nonetheless and it's always in my living room floor- gets used daily.

Spiny-do
My girlfriend received this as a birthday gift. I didn't think it would see much use, but we both use it all the time. I'm not even a figure skater. Sometimes you just walk by and the temptation is to great to do a few spinny-do's. It spins pretty effortlessly and smooth.

Perfect!
This is the perfect size. I have to lift my heel just enough to keep on the ball of my foot just like a spin on the ice. Its made in USA! and VERY smooth gliding actions. I'm still only doing two foot spins on the ice but this helps me not get so dizzy on the ice. I feel like I'll be better paired for when i start doing one foot spins. I started barley being able to do 1-2 rotations now i'm doing 3-4. Its very difficult but so is spinning on the ice. I read the other reviewer and I wonder how they really gave it a chance. It doesn't fit your whole foot so you have to stay on the ball of your foot to spin!

I like this spinner verses the Edea spinner in that this one forces you to learn to adjust your body to stay centered. Which also makes it much harder. I don’t get on the ice a lot so I was able to work on my back spins with this and saw improvement right away when I got back on the ice. Minus one star though as a bearing is starting to go bad and grind.

Good home practice off ice
I have two figure skaters. well, third is at college, but they all love it. So far it has helped their core and balance even though it isn't an exact simulation of the spins on ice. Nothing beats ice time but this is a good home practice tool. Least it keeps her from jumping a bit too. SIgh.

Great tool
It is just as described and serves its purpose well. It describes itself as difficult, but that is only for the overarching goal of building up your balance and strength for turns -- overall a great tool.
