Fun Sudoku
A nice-sized book. Large puzzles make it easier for notations. There is a good mix of puzzles.

Excellent puzzles; format leaves something to be desired.
The puzzle quality in this book is wonderful. The cover is so cute and comforting, sort of like the Sudoku equivalent of a cozy mystery or something. I love that aspect of this Sudoku book. This book easily fits in my purse and can probably fit into the bigger pockets of some jackets and it does not weigh much. The unfortunate part is that the book is printed on paper that is just a little tough to write on. This is actually like a novel—that is how the book looks and feels. It is not the end of the world but some players may find it slightly difficult to see the pencil on the page and may find the paper a bit off-putting. Although it is not spiral-bound, I have not had serious trouble using it but the puzzles are slightly closer to the crease of the book than is ideal. The upside is that there is only one puzzle per page and the print is nice and large.I think the puzzle quality is so great that it is sort of upsetting that the format of the book itself is what it is. If not for that, I would probably immediately buy every Will Shortz Sudoku puzzle book I can find.Bottom line: this is a great Sudoku book for beginners and Sudoku fanatics who are not super hung up on the format. If the format and PHYSICAL comfort is super important to you, then this book may not be ideal.

Issue with Format of Book
Let me start by saying that I love Will Shortz -- his crosswords and sudoku's! I typically play Sudoku on the nytimes.com and I wanted to have another option for playing my favorite logic game without looking at a screen. As such, I ordered this book. The format of the book is not ideal for the following reasons (from most to least important).1. The book is not spiral bound, making it difficult to complete Sudoku's without basically breaking the spine of the book (and even then, still tricky).2. The color of the pages are more of an off white, which is probably more environmentally friendly (yay); however, if you take notes in pencil, they can be hard to see, especially after erasing. Now that I think about it though, i'd rather have more environmentally friendly pages that pure white pages so this may be a moot point.3. The pages of this book are thin, re: can be hard to see, especially after erasing. They are also somewhat fragile (re: erasing). Again, this may be more environmentally friendly (?) so it could also be a moot point. In sum, if you are serious about Sudoku, I recommend purchasing a spiral bound activity book (or... Will Shortz, you should advocate for a spiral bound! or... I could just purchase those frames with photochromic lenses and make the MOST environmentally sound decision to not purchase a book at all).
