Neo-Dot Premium Hardcover Notebook, 5mm Grid Dot Pattern, Journal, A5 (8 x 5.5in)

My new favorite journal. I'm just a few weeks away from finishing my current bullet journal, and this will be my next. I LOVE that the pages are bright white and that the dots are a light gray. Plus, the dots go all the way to the edge of the page, so no wasted space. Dots per page are: 40 dots tall, 27 dots wide and spaced 5mm apart (I measured to verify). It says lay flat on the description and that's 100% accurate. The size of the journal is just slightly (8mm) off from true A5 size - it's 8mm narrower, but it still feels nice in the hand and is comfortable to carry. This book is made for creators, so as a creative professional, I truly appreciate the little details. For instance, the pen loop is perfectly aligned with the logo on the front of the book. And can we just talk about the endpapers for a minute? Serious!? How adorable (adorable in a masculine/feminine sort of way, of course)!! My favorite doodle is the little coffee cup... or maybe the rocket ship.I did a pen test on this notebook and it passed with flying colors! In fact, the 100gsm paper acts more like 110gsm because there is virtually no ghosting, even with the wettest pens and fountain pen. I see a tiny bit of feathering on a couple of my wet pens, but nothing that will cause a problem for everyday use. I'm attaching a photo of the pen test results as reference.I was lucky enough to snag a copy of this journal before they sold out of the first batch. Might I make a suggestion for the next production run? Page numbers! Please. And it'd be nice to have a few extra pages up front - some index pages, maybe a key page too. And I also can't wait to see if you come up with new colors.

Great notebook! The hardcover is smooth and luxurious, while the pen loop provides necessary functionality. There is no "breaking the binding" for notebook to lay flat. The paper thickness is very good. No bleeding through on paper, and I tested with micron, sharpie and flair pens. I like the dot grid for faux calligraphy practice and design There are also 2 different colored ribbons to mark you place in journal. This is wonderful since I like a "practice" as well as journaling section. Perhaps my favorite feature is the built in pocket for those times that you had to jot something on a napkin. However, with this notebook, I think I will quickly train myself to always have it with me! The elastic closure means everything stays secure.

I would have given this five stars, but the pages are to white. I guess I should have read the description more carefully. The dots are a little too dark for my taste, but I think I can get passed that. Other than those two issues, I really like the notebook. I would highly recommend to those who aren't as picky as I am.Edit (June 8)-Now that I have used it for six months, I will give it 5 stars. I actually really like the paper and the dot color works well with what Im doing. The only thing is the pen loop is broken; lasted about 4 months. But everything else is fine.

I like the notebook however the elastic strap has broken within 2 weeks of me starting to use the notebook. Very upsetting :(
