Good Safe For The Money!
Nice safe. Bolted it to the floor in the closet. Going to have to rip up the floor to remove it! Works well and love the key backup. All in all I cannot complain for the price. Would definitely buy again!

Great Starter Lock Box/Safe
This lockbox, while not quite a full-fledged safe, is a fantastic entry-level security solution that serves a specific niche, and here's why it deserves a closer look:First and foremost, its lightweight design makes it exceptionally easy to handle and move, a feature that's particularly advantageous for those who prioritize portability. Its small form factor is ideal for stowing away precious, smaller items such as money and jewelry, providing a dedicated and secure space for these valuables. However, it's worth noting that its lightweight nature also implies that it should ideally be discreetly hidden from plain view to deter potential intruders. This precaution ensures that its very nature doesn't invite unwanted attention due to its manageable size and weight. In my own security journey, I eventually opted for a larger and heavier safe for my more substantial valuables. Nonetheless, I continue to find utility in this lockbox for organizing and safeguarding other important items. Its compactness and simplicity make it a versatile addition to my security strategy. In summary, this lockbox is a solid choice for those looking for a starting point in securing their valuables. Its lightweight build, small form factor, and usability for smaller items like money and jewelry make it a practical option. While it may not be suitable for all security needs, it serves as a valuable component within a broader security setup, providing peace of mind for your most cherished possessions.

Best safe at the best price.
Ignore the people who wrote bad reviews about this safe.First of all I purchased the 1.8 cubic feet safe. Now, let me give you an honest real review.Every safe, especially of this small of a size, WILL NOT BE PERFECT. Check the reviews to every single safe you find on Amazon, or elsewhere, and there will be quite a few of reviews “safe broken into” “safe can be opened using blank” etc.there is no perfect safe. Safes are used to store important documents, firearms, or whatever else. There is no safe that is absolutely inaccessible to random people. Burglars are not showing up to your house with tools to break into your safe, they are looking for an easy way to get into the safe easily. All safes are NOT perfect. This safe is built well, looks good, good size, you can set any code from 4-8 digits, set up is really easy, and programming it is easy.It does the job, it locks, it doesn’t open easily, it has quite a lot of space, and no complaints. The locking system DOES NOT, unlock randomly, it has stayed lock, and I tried very basically to just get it to unlock, and it has not malfunctioned. It’s a good starter safe for simple storage. There is no fingerprint reader, but has backup keys, and to program the pin is easy.

Meets certain needs
It's definitely not a high security safe. The steel is relatively thin, the locking mechanism can be defeated with both brute force and several other tricks by an experienced thief, but it will seriously slow down a casual burglar of opportunity. It lives up to what's advertised and for less than $100 on-sale, it's a good value and meets most of my essential needs for home use (good neighborhood, monitored home security system, not really a target, reasonable stealth) . However, the battery retaining tabs on the battery box made a large range of AA alkaline (such as Energizer, Amazon Basic) and all NiMH batteries either not fit at all of fit too tightly. I solved that problem by carefully filing down the two tabs to sufficiently relieve the pressure on the battery cross section (diameter). This could be done with an nail file or emery board and 15 minutes of careful work. Everything else works as intended, superbly packed to prevent damage, good printed manual. I added four security bolts to close the holes in the back (should have come with them) and bolted it down to concrete slab floor to prevent it from walking off. In use now with four Enloop NiMH batteries. All in all, a good 4-star lock box for my low threat situation.

If you read experience with this product and have more questions, let me know.
Let’s start with the kind of safe it is. It’s a 1/8” plate steel safe; it is not fireproof. It is idiot proof, however. It has a key as well as a keypad to secure the door and your possessions. It has anchors, which are suitable for concrete, block or brick. It has predrilled 3/8” holes in the back and on the bottom. The bottom holes are perfect to put lag bolts through and secure to the floor. This safe will stop your kids, grandkids, friends of the aforementioned and punks who break in while you’re vacationing. A “pro” could surely defeat it, so if you’re expecting Fort Knox for just over $100.00, you’re not going to get it and probably never will. I have had big rifle vaults which are pricey but effective. I would tell anyone looking to protect their loved ones, secure your pistols, some jewelry and some other items buy at least one! The craftsmanship is outstanding, the locking mechanism is strong and has two 5/8” bolts to secure the door. The hinges are recessed from the door opening, so you’re not getting into it quickly, without tools. I forgot to mention there’s a small shelf about 4” from the top, which is my ammo shelf. If anyone has any questions, I’d be happy to help you out.Sean

Fit For Purpose
I have 4 of these and am pleased with their quality. They are not super-safes but as I said in the title, are fit for purpose. For me that purpose is ammunition storage. Once full, they are so heavy I don’t worry about someone walking out with them. I have them stacked 2X2. If I needed a safe for expensive items like jewelry or even cash, I’d probably step up a few levels to something more secure. Recently the batteries ran down on one of them and I used the key to open and replace them. It was very easy (once I figured out which key it was) and works as it is supposed to. Wait until they’re on sale though. No complaints.
