Love at First Stitch: Demystifying Dressmaking

I've purchased this book as a gift for my daughter who has just got her first sewing machine. She'd had this book from the library so knew that it was good and wanted a copy of her own. The book purchased doesn't look like it's been opened let alone read, so I'm very pleased with it.

Totally love this book second hand had patterns include looks brand new.

I took a chance on this book (I bought the one that comes with patterns) and I am so glad I did. I have made two of the patterns so far and they came out perfect thanks to Tilly's clear and friendly instructions. I love how she has a very conversational style - "Don't worry if you have to unpick a little bit here' or 'I like to pour a cheeky glass of wine and relax for a little button-sewing!' - most sewing books assume you are already an expert, and don't have the same love of sewing radiating from the pages. The book is set out so that you can quickly flip for reference to something, and its designed so lovely, that I often just sit down with it and flick through because it makes me happy. If you are in two minds about this book, take a chance on it!
