Amour Crochet Hook: 5.50mm

I was a Susan Bates only girl until I found clover hooks. Susan Nate’s hooks are great from smaller tighter stitches but when you want to glide through a blanket you’ll need a clover hook! I purchased the set years ago when it was about $30. It’s something outrageous now but put it on your wish list. These hooks work so smoothly without snagging yarn you’ll wonder how you managed without them.

Slowly replacing most of my hooks.

This needle has a particularly short usable shaft, but it actually works better because the place that your hand lands won't torque the handle the way most brands are made, which means that you won't wind up pulling the handle off the needle. I will be replacing all of my needles with this type over time as they break.

This is a nice hook but not my favorite.This hook just doesn’t glide on the yarn like my metal hooks.

I couldn't find mine so I ordered another. then I found the first one, but that's okay because it never hurts to have an extra hook! I have 4 of the size H hooks. I tried the H first, then bought the set of hooks and I'll gradually buy extra hooks in my other sizes. these hooks are so smooth on the yarn and comfortable on your hand.

So I never understood what the hype was all about when it comes to Clover hooks, or why people would pay so much money for something that you can get a lot cheaper from other brands... Untill my dog chewed up a handle on my most often used hook. So I decided to splurge, and OH MY GOD!!!! Now I see!!!!! The handle is just a handle, yes, it's comfortable, yes, the sizing is engraved so it doesn't rub off, but that's true for just about any brand. The magic is in the hook itself, it is so perfectly rounded and pointed at the same time, and so smooth it laughs even at my most hated puff stitches!!!!! All the sudden all my other hooks seem completely worthless, I don't ever want to use any of them again and am gradually replacing my entire collection

The hook is comfortable to use but doesn't hold onto the yarn. Loops slip off too easily because the "throat" is shallow.

Using my old metal hook was really aggravating my carpal tunnel. I struggled to make more than one or two shells of my granny square before it became too painful. I even tried wrapping elastic bands around the handle, which helped a little but not completely. I ordered this hook, it arrived very quickly. I cannot believe the difference, my pain levels are almost zero. The silicone handle means that you only have to grip lightly, it won't slip and fall. The handle is chunky enough that you don't pinch your fingers when gripping. So happy to add this to my collection, I will replace all my hooks as I need them.

The handle is quite long so easy to control and soft touch so comfortable to use. More importantly, the yarn glides easily on and off the hook.
