Works as intended
Bought for my 1986 Tohatsu 18hp outboard. Works as it should. This fuel filter is a little bigger than the original that comes with the outboard but that’s not an issue. Nothing leaks and fits snug. Would be nice if it came with washers and nut but that’s more for convenience.

No quality/Junk
I bought this because I couldn't find a replacement filter so it looks like this is the way to go, swapped it out easy enough and then went to price it with the squeeze ball. as soon as I started to prime gas started coming out from around where the barbed fitting goes into the housing!Total junk! Luckily I was able to steel the filter out of it and put it in the OEM housing at least to accomplish the same goal. hope the filter isn't as low quality as the housing was....

It works on a 30 hp Tohatsu (merc) too
We bought this for a 40 hp Tohatsu but instead used it on a thirty and bought another one. Fits like OEM

Failed quickly
Leaked from the plastic top area above the seal after not even 2 years. Worked until then at least.

Poor quality replacement for the original
Junk replacement for the original, here are the reasons why1) When I first installed it I noticed the mounting bolt was shorter, as a result I could not user the washers that go on the bolt.2) After installing it, the filter was leaking. I examined it and the rubber gasket was too large for the seal. I tried to correct the problem. But it still seemed to suck air.3) The filter is 4 times as large as the original filter, bigger is not always better on filters.4) The inlet and outlet are 45 degree from each other, the original was 90 degrees. There is nothing good about this filter! Way to expensive for poor quality.

Was not a nexact match
Although it looked like the original, the inlet and outlet ports were smaller than the original and the fuel lines were larger. So this led to not being able to clamp the lines properly to avoid leaks. also the filter itself was only a fine mesh not the original paper filter.
