Brill
Fantastic! Like mentioned below in sure that if you are an experienced fell runner this may be unnecessary but if like me you are getting into running off-road and looking for places to explore these books (also have peak district one and lake district one) have massively improved my off road running, route finding and motivation. Also if you aren't local are great to get when travelling to an area as all routes I've done have been beautiful and places I wouldn't have known to go.Can't recommend enough

Great selection of routes
A great little book with a good selection of routes. I’ve only ran one of them since I bought it but it was easy to follow and very accurate

Great and Varied Guide
This is a great and varied guide, featuring routes from 5km to 17.5km which span the width of the Brecon Beacons and venture as far north as the Begwns. The routes range from mountain tops to gentle commons and are quite spread out, which is perfect if you’re looking to explore the Beacons in their entirety. The guide is straightforward to use, with clear instructions at the start. The size and weight of the book make it a really practical guide; I prefer to take guides with me rather than rely on an inevitably blurry photograph of the information, and this was small and light enough that I could shove it in a small running bag without noticing it.As well as a map overview, the contents page includes the length of each route. This is really helpful to make a quick choice, although it would have been beneficial to include the ascent here as well, as the actual distance is often only half the story! There is plenty of information, with each description including a map of each route plus beautiful photos to help you find inspiration to get out the front door. The layout is clear and easy to use, including an altitude profile which makes it easy to quickly assess the suitability of each route. It also includes the ascent, typical times, terrain, navigation rating, closest refreshment option (particularly appreciated!), and the start point identified by grid reference and postcode for your Sat Nav – definitely a useful inclusion. The use of both navigation and technicality ratings makes this a practical guide for runners who feel less confident about heading off into the hills, or for days when visibility is bad.A quick paragraph of background information on each route includes an interesting snip of historical context to the area. The descriptions are closely detailed and easy to follow, although the phrases in bold didn’t always seem to cover the key directions – this could have been slightly clearer for a quick glance down at the instructions without having to stop.Overall it’s an excellent guide with some fantastic and interesting routes. If you run throughout the Brecon Beacons and find yourself in need of some inspiration or some new routes to run, this would be a great aid.

Easy and clear to follow, not necessarily for the experienced runner
***I WAS GIVEN THIS BY THE PUBLISHER IN EXCHANGE FOR A REVIEW***If your just getting started in off-road running this is probably a good book for you. Half of the runs are less than 10k (6 miles) with only the last few being 17k (10 ish miles). So you could start off on the easier runs and as your skills improved you graduated onto the longer ones.On the other hand if your an experienced off-road runner then there are better resources for the money and even better free resources. It's a clear and easy to follow book, using a goat symbol to denote difficulty which is east to find on the route overview page. However, the navigation skill level is slightly harder to find and not always in exactly the same place in the text. A slight annoyance, as they could have just had the nav skill, next to the goat symbol.Overall is well put together, easy to follow and you might find some new routes (I have), but you could always spend an evening pouring over your OS map and going on a completely new adventure anyway.

Useful, well laid out and inspiring
This is a great little book - I wish there were more like it for trail runners. The route descriptions are clear, accompanied by good maps and useful indicators of the type of trail, estimated times and ascent profiles. There are also some beautiful pictures which make you want to get out there, as well as good introductions to the routes, which give you a useful sense of the wider geography and history of the setting. Essentially, this book does what it says on the tin and does it very well.

Couldn't recommend it enough!
After recently moving to just an hours drive from the Brecon Beacons, I picked up this book in the hope of getting to know new running routes. It's just the thing. Super easy and accessible. Couldn't recommend it enough!
