Jack's Giant Elephant Ear Plant- Colocasia- Massive Foliage- Potted

I bought and received the initial order and "Giant" did not describe the tiny potting I received. For some reason I received a second tuber. Much better that the first shipment however it is very slow growing even though it is automatically watered twice daily by a trickle system. Lowes finally got some plants in selling for $9.95. That plant is growing like a weed. I miss the day I could buy just the tubers the size of large baking potatoes.Latest update (Sept, 2014), the second tuber also a "Jack's Giant" has turned into a beautiful plant far surpassing the tuber I got from Lowes (a Taro plant). If you can get the vendor to provide you with a 5-6 inch tuber you will be more than pleased. The original "Giant " still only has a few leaves and is about 12 inches high. The second one is 2 feet high and 2 feet wide and putting out new leaves every day. By the end of the growing season it should be quite large

Ok, I had these for over two weeks living in my house and I already see them getting bigger, success!!! One leaf died but that was before I learned that these guys need water daily to every other day, so now its looking green and happy (large leaf plants tend to need more water anyway). I forget how much California are sticklers to their environment, so they had to bare root them in Florida (sorry guys). This pushed back the delivery date a little, but I'm glad it survived the trip across the country, during winter might I add. This is an awesome, easy to care for plant, and I highly recommend for purchase.

Well, still working with it. When it came, it had three leaves and one turned brown and fell off pretty quickly. Another came, and another fell off. I now have three again and one is looking a little sad so I'm not sure if it is going to stay on or not. I have watered it continuously since all reviews said they like a lot of water. Also gave it some plant food and put some mulch in to retain the water. It has been fun watching it grow but wish I could get more leaves to come and stay on. It's a work in progress!

This plant has been so much fun to watch. I received a two leaf plant (one leaf almost dead) in the mail back in July. I let it acclimate several days on the lanai and knowing I don't have much of a green thumb and being in hot, humid central Florida I was skeptical I would have success. I planted it in a nice shady area under an oak tree where it gets only late afternoon sun. It has been a couple of months now and this plant is thriving and living up to its name - Giant! Each leave that emerges is 30 - 45% bigger than the last one. My entire family enjoys watching each new leaf unfold...a nice conversational plant. :)

Smalll very healthy Elephant Ear plant packaged well and beautifully wrapped in colorful tissue paper and ribbon. Enclosed was company email for any additional questions about plant. Would recommend to friends.

This product was not package with the same size plant that is in the photo. The size and look of the plant is different. The plant was extremely small. The best thing about the product was the gift wrap. They invest most of their time in wrapping the the product. I hope it will become what I ordered eventually. Good luck.

Nothing like what you see on the picture advertised here, the plant is very very and one more time very small. Mine had only 3 leaves. Died after about a weeks time..ICK.....
