So the legs don’t slide/telescope into each other and you have to remove to fold it up? my “old” coleman table has telescoping adjustable legs.

The leg extensions easily slide on and removed when folding the table. The extensions are stored in clips on the bottom of the table when it is folded. I can imagine how the older version which slid up into the leg worked. I think this method is better in that there is no concern of wear or difficulty of sliding the legs. I like this table and it suits my needs nicely.

is table top wood or plastic? is table top heat resistant? can set a hot pan when cooking outdoor?

Not wood, not plastic ... aluminum? Light weight, sturdy. We would not put anything hot directly on the table but put it on a hot pad? Fit our needs perfectly.
