Decent reel at a great price
When I received my reel, I discovered that it was set up for a left-handed angler. I took it apart, and through some trial and error, I discovered how to switch it to operate properly for a right-handed fisherman (rod in the right hand, reel with the left). I wish I'd taken some photos or otherwise documented the process, because I can't remember exactly how I did it.In any case, the reel now performs well for me. It is a "click style" drag, which I find just as comfortable as a disc drag. The drag is adjustable, and works smoothly throughout its range of adjustment. If you cannot tell from the basic measurements given, this reel is on the small side. I use it on my ultralight rod (1 weight), and it would probably work well up to a 3 or 4 weight. I would describe it as a "mid-arbor" design. It will allow you to get a reasonable amount of backing on the reel, and still have adequate room for the fly line itself. I would have preferred a traditional small arbor design (and just used more backing to increase the diameter to where I like it), but this works well enough for me.The obvious downside is that there are no spare spools available for this reel. It's hard to be upset about that, though, when you can just buy multiple reels for far less than you could buy spare spools for other brands. Of course, if all your reels arrive set up for lefties, you'll have some significant tinkering to do before you're ready to spool your lines and go fishing.

Good quality reel!
This reel worked really good for Arctic Grayling on a 2-weight rod! The drag worked smoothly as the pole was bent almost over itself! When I put my line on this reel, I did not have much room for backing, so I just used 10 or 15 yards, and then my 2-weight line. When you fish with 2 or 3-weight line, you probably aren't making 30 or 40 yard casts, so not being able to load lots of backing doesn't really matter.

Used it twice already and have caught 5 fish. Tough to know how much fly line and backing to put on because the real is smaller in size.

It only holds about two thirds of a spool of 3 wt. line.

It's small, but that's what I wanted. Switch from r hand to L with ease. Haven't fished it yet, but it seems decent for the price.
