Buying antlers is always a roll of the dice - I've done pretty well, but some of the time, the antlers are underwhelming or last less time than I'd've hoped. This one was a very good size, (that's what she/he/they said), and pretty smooth too - some are worryingly rough/jagged/spikey either right away or after a short amount of time.I'd purchased it for my dog as a stocking stuffer, so to speak, after he'd buried his last ones in the yard in succession. He has a habit of sneaking things outside, burying them, and then forgetting that he buried them & looking for them around the couch cushions. Sometimes I find them in the yard, but have been less lucky as of late. Due to the large size of this one, I was certain my family could band together in our mission to keep him from burying it. Alas, it wasn't meant to be, but he did have it for a good amount of time, chewed on it regularly, and there was barely any noticeable change to it. I might give up on antlers, due to the expense as my dog gets better & better at sneaking them out, plus he's getting older & it might be too hard on his teeth, no matter what the quality may be. BUT if your dog needs something to keep him/her busy & you want something that will last a long time - if they don't lose it forever in some kind of alternate dimension/hidden hole in your backyard - I think this would do very, very well.

My friend has a Weimaraner that is the size of a Great Dane. Who loves to happily chew and tear up everything. He'll pulverize a set of auto mats in no time. He loves to sneak in our backyard and pick up the ears of corn meant for the bunnies. But he will eventually eat what he chews if you don't take it away from him. And he will puke it up/get an upset stomach. So it's hard to find him something safe, that won't make a huge mess that will eventually have to be cleaned up later. Other than Benebone.I was searching for safe chew toys for huge @ss dogs and came upon dropped antlers! I spent over an hour two different times looking at SEVERAL different sellers on Amazon, and different brands on Pets Mart and Pet Co's websites. And even "googling". For the actually huge antlers, the price was always $40 to $50 and above. Even $85! For something to try for the first time, I'm not going to spend $50. But I'm also not going to be cheap and get a smaller sized antler (meant for a much smaller sized dog), that would be easily swallowed by a huge dog. I read SEVERAL reviews from the other sellers on Amazon claiming huge antlers. But when they arrived they were actually much smaller, and some even without the tips being sanded down.Hearing about outrageous prices at the brick and mortar stores. I bit the bullet and ordered this one to see if it was really the same size as described. Since it advertised free returns. This seller also had 100% positive reviews which is rare. All of the customers confirming its size. And to my amazement it was! It's huge! It's totally, for sure, large enough for a behemoth sized dog! The label says this antler is for a 45lb-90lb dog. Our friends dog is OVER 100lbs! And this is still big enough for him! I am super impressed and happy with my purchase! I almost want to buy one just for me to add to my rock collection.All of the edges were sanded down smooth, no pokey parts. There were 3 spots with the softer bone marrow showing. Making a safe chew not to instantly chip teeth on the rough outer bone/antler. The bone actually did look like a naturally dropped antler as it was lighter in color from bleaching from the sun. I am excited to hear if the dog loves it as much as I do!5 Stars!!

This is the second antler that we have purchased from this distributor, and while we were quite pleased with the first delivery, this one is seriously disappointing. The photos were taken today, only 9 days after delivery. There is virtually nothing left of the antler and I have had to clean up significant messes each day since we got it. The first antler lasted almost 3 months and made virtually no mess at all. This one won’t make it to 2 weeks and has been a nightmare, leaving white “shavings” and pieces all over the house. I felt like we got a great value on the first one, but feel like this latest one was a waste of money (just under $30 including tax).UPDATE - We have updated our review to 5 stars (up from 1 star) as we were contacted by the distributor immediately after submitting our feedback. They refunded the charge and apologized for the quality of the product. This type of customer service is almost as important to us as the product.

I've never had an antler smell this bad. When I first gave it to the dogs there was just a mild smell like any natural chew. After they reached the inner section of the antler (3 days with two working on it) it got so stinky I could smell it across the room. I'm not sure if something didn't dry out well because the antler is so thick (over an inch in most spots) or what. Other reviews mentioned the smell but I was hoping it was just a couple people that got a bad one.

I like that this chew is natural & I don't have to be concerned about any extra additives , ingredients or loose parts that can affect my dogs digestive tracts.

My dog loved this antler and chewed for hours within the first few weeks. He still chews on it on occasion, but he doesn't seem as interested. I guess the center that he wants most is too difficult to get to. But every once in a while he'll attack it again. I definitely prefer these type of treats to the nylon ones that shred. I hate the idea of him ingesting those materials. This is much better.

My German Shepherds have destroyed every toy I've ever bought them. Some last seconds and others can last a week, but none survived until I tried an elk antler. This is the only one they have to work at and even after an hour of vigorous chewing, they've barely made a dent in it. Will buy again, just not for a long time.

My 8 month old German Shepard mix (50 pounds) went through nearly half in less than 1 week. This was his first Elk Antler. I thought it would be handy for in the house. I usually give him a beef rib or marrow bone every day. Beef ribs are only about $1.50 each from your butcher.

This is the biggest antler I’ve received from any company. I bought a second one when I received it. Very pleased and so is my pup!

My dog is a 50 pound boxer and has had this bone for awhile now. She is a super chewer. Ive gotten many other brands/styles of these and they dont last long, but this one does! I will be buying again, totally worth the money!! It does not leave a mess behind and has already kept her entertained for hours and the bone still has many hours left on it.

Just what our dog needed. These are for the dogs who are frequently wanting to chew. Seems to be good quality and is perfect for our 55 pound 1 year old dog! After 3 weeks the antler has a lot of chew life left!

This is the first antler that we have purchased from this company, and it has surpassed all others we have bought previously on Amazon. The size is actually extra-large, and the Golden Retriever who received it gives it 4 paws up!

This product is amazing for our German Short haired pointer. Some chew bones will give him an upset stomach and this didn’t affect him at all! We have a couple of them now, and will continue to purchase these. Very satisfied with our purchase.
