RothcoCamo M-65 Field Jacket - Weather Ready Durability

Durable materials, HUGE sizing
Tiger Stripe has always been my camo of choice, the M-65 has got a great color to this pattern and the build quality is nice. The jacket is sized VERY large however.Strengths:Fabric - It's a nice poly cotton blend that seems rugged and water resistant. Note, this is not a 100% waterproof item - but that's not really the point of this jacket. I sprayed it with some water-proofing spray to make it even better.Color - The Tiger Stripe is a rich color, which is what I want. It will naturally fade over time, but I always like my camo to start with strong colors. It matches perfectly the Boonie hat as well.Liner - The jacket comes with a full-length synthetic liner that buttons in. It's not a super warm "arctic level" liner, but wear a Wooly Pully underneath - and I'm sure that it will be very effective in most conditions.Build quality - The stitching seems neat, the snaps are well built, its got a massive brass zipper.Price - I paid less than $100 for this jacket, and frankly I think that it's a pretty good price for this item.Weaknesses:Sizing - I am 6'2", and wear a size 40 suit jacket. This M-65 is a Medium regular, and it is HUGE on me. It's plenty long enough and the width . . . Well, I could easily wear a sweater, plate carrier, and extra mags on a chest harness underneath with room to spare. I would probably be better with a Small-Long, but that size doesn't exist. I suppose you could take this as a positive, but be warned the sizing is very BIG.Hood - The small hood zipped into the collar is very thin and flimsy. It's not lined and doesn't really fit over the collar. I imagine rain with run off it and into my collar. I may take it to a tailor and have them rig it up to button onto the collar, because right now the hood seems to be an afterthought.Summary:I'm very pleased with this jacket, and I'm sure to use it for many years into the future. Who knows, I may get one in khaki or brown sometime later. Be advised, these are very large jackets; consider sizing down.

Perfect Fit, Exceptional Quality - A Must Buy!
OMG, this jacket is incredible! I am thoroughly impressed with its quality and fit. As someone who stands at 6'1" and weighs 197 pounds, finding the right jacket size can be a bit of a gamble. I usually go for a medium, or a small for an extremely tight fit. But this time, I decided to try something different. After reading almost every review, I took a leap of faith and got the extra small size. And guess what? I'm so glad I did! This jacket, despite being an extra small, fits me like a medium. It's like it was made for me. I'm a fan of the North Face fleece base layer, and this jacket still offers a bit more room while maintaining that snug, comfortable fit.To give you some perspective, I recently paid $300 for a medium 1970s Alpha M65 field jacket in amazing condition, and it's significantly larger than this one. But this jacket, it just fits way better and looks incredibly stylish too. If you're on the fence about buying it, I say go for it. It's a must-buy in my book!

Excellent buy!!
This is absolutely one of the best coats I’ve ever owned. Extremely functional, looks great and not too heavy. I’m almost always “too hot” so I don’t need a really heavy clumsy coat, not to say it’s not warm, it is but it’s just not heavy and bulky where I can’t wait to get it off. The other day it was in the 20’s and the wind was crazy, I put this on and didn’t feel the wind one bit!! The liner comes out so you can rock it early spring and fall on those chilly mornings. I will say this, ORDER SMALLER!!! I am 5’11, 230 lbs with broad shoulders. I generally wear an XL shirt that’s snug on the upper body and biceps, for hoodies and jackets sometimes I’m a 2XL. So I ordered one and it was for someone much much larger than me. Exchanged for an XL, still too big. I haven’t worn a L anything in decades but with this? I’m a Large and it’s still plenty big where I have room but it’s not tight on my shoulders, it’s still a relaxed fit, only this time it doesn’t go down to my knees! Overall I’m very happy. I have a bunch of Rothco shorts and have some now for 3 years, washed after each wear and no holes, or loose stitching, maybe some fading on some of the darker color camo but that’s 3 years and A LOT of washes. Quality stuff, don’t bother with cheap imitations.

Replacement coat ain't so bad afterall
Quality: Very nice overallWarmth: I may be atypical but I use my coats year long (weather varies a lot here from 35c to -35c) but this coat is warmer than my older coat, I might not be able to wear it when summer comes even if I detach the inner liner. When I got this coat, I made a list of everything I wanted modified and brought it to a tailor.-Had the velcro wrist tighteners removed and replaced with buttons, I really dislike velcro.-Had the velcro on the wirst/hand flaps removed as it really caught onto everything including gloves.-Had nice interior pockets added to the liner.-Had the liner extended in the upper arm area, it stopped right after my elbows... Was very uncomfortable.-Removed the hood as I wear hats instead and it's aesthetic wasn't nice. When tucked away inside the coat it would create a heat pocket in my upper back which I really disliked. The tailor made an excellent job correcting the small things I disliked about this coat. After a couple of weeks of wearing, the lower left side button attaching the liner to the sheel broke off, easy fix no big deal.
