The model Firebird F743-1 has a reserved and laconic design, and this knife can be called a classic, rather than sports type, but its use is equally convenient for both daily tasks and for trips to the countryside or a tourist trip. The basic material of this knife is stainless steel 440 c. It is widely distributed in the Blade industry because it tolerates field conditions and remains sharp a long time because of its high-quality. The blade is completely smooth and sharpened so that it is easy to cut any food and many other types of materials. All incisions are can be made neat and smooth. The blade length of this knife is 3.1". For strength, comes with a metal thickness of 3 mm, and the metal surface processed by the method of nozzles. This smooth sanding, by which the blade remains barely noticeable line traces indicating the direction of metal processing. The Firebird F743-1 is a combination knife. Near the blade, it is about a third the length which is made steel and processed by the same method as that blade. The rest of the handle on both sides has a secured lining of composite glass-reinforced plastic, known as G10. They are secured to the base by two small screws. The surface of the lining has been roughened by fine knurling. This helps to keep the knife firmly in hand even if the palms are wet. On one side of the handle is a security clip, also made of steel and gives the knife the capability of being reset into another position. The Castle for the Firebird F743-1 knife has a selected Frame Lock. It is a modernized classic line-lock, which provides a secure and clear hold of the knife blade. This makes carrying of the knife in the pocket absolutely secure. Had to Give Up My First, So I Bought it Again
I owned this knife for years. I bought it because it was inexpensive, I thought it looked good for daily carry, and quickly came to absolutely love it. It made me happy every time I took it out and flipped it open. It did exactly what I wanted it to do, plus it was always sharp, easily held an edge, and took frequent beatings over three years. Then, one night, I went to a concert and I forgot to take my beloved knife out of my pocket. We arrived at the show via a car service, and since I couldn't run back and drop my knife in my ride, I had to surrender it to the grubby, sticky trash can at the security station. Said security station crewed by an equally grubby, sticky, pimply-faced minion. Aaarrrggghhh! But... I understood.Anyway, I missed my knife ever since, and I diligently looked for another, hoping to find it once more. I had loved it, I carried it in my jeans, my suit pants, even my jogging pants. Loved. It.Initially, I purchased from Ganzo direct, mail order, overseas to the US. Now, Amazon has it!And, so today, it just came back to me. A nice man in a brightly colored vest dropped it right at my front door. I added a little machine oil to the pivot point to loosen the action and I removed the useless thumb stud. Now, though a little tighter and a lot newer, I have my favorite knife back in my hand, and in my pants. It is rare you get to get something so beloved back.I heartily and happily recommend this knife.Cheers,AW

Not a great flipper. Thumb stud is useless.
Well, it looks cool. Price is great and actual fit and finish is impressive for a cheap knife. It has a nice weight and feels good in hand.If the flipper actually flipped the blade open, this would be a 5 star review. The action is smooth so resistance is not the issue. The problem is the design. The flipper when flipped with as much force as I can muster will not get the blade out more than 90 degrees. I then can get it to lock with a wrist snap. Point is that it’s a flipper knife and it should flip all the way open. So flipper doesn’t do it, what about the thumb stud? Well this thing is completely useless. Put as much force as you can on it and the blade does not budge. So flip and wrist snap will get it open.I really like the look and feel of this knife and I will work around the flipper issue. It’s a very nice blade for the money but they need to work on their flipping flippers.

Could be a good knife, but.....
Cool knife. Needs a slight flick of the wrist to get it to open all the way, but it's smooth and the blade is razor sharp.Unfortunately, the detent is very weak, so it's prone to opening by itself. For that reason, I' won't carry this on me and it lives in a drawer with all the other cool but not usable knives I have.

Solid lockup easy to carry
Bought many knives from Ace knife and it’s always been a pleasure. The 743 is one of about a dozen ganzos I’ve bought, and it is solid just like the rest. Mine won’t flip open by itself but a little wrist flip and the frame locks up solid with no side to side or up and down at all. I bought it because I like knives that don’t take up much room at the top of my pocket so I can still get my hands in them, but I also like overbuilt knives that are going to stay open when I’m using them. The 743 fills that bill. There is not a whole lot of knife to get ahold of with the 743, so stiletto is not a definition of this knife, gentleman folder is probably best, but it is a very sturdy 3/12 inch bladed knife.

A Very Nice Replacement.
I really like this Ganzo Folder...I like the shape and feel in my hand...This was a second replacement..The first one that came was defective..the G10 scales were not flush with the steel bolsters...The Good Folks at Ace Knife..got right on in it and fixed the problem..with instant return postage to return mine, and two days later a new one came to my door..This one was perfect..its a liner lock and the scales are split to accommodate the design...So in some regards I can understand the challenge of this build...Thanks Ace Knife

Almost perfect
For around $20 you can't really ask for much more. Super sharp out of the box, great fit and finish. Became my new EDC as soon as I got it. Smooth action on the blade and it centers up perfectly. Tight locking action but not so tight that it binds. Opens easily with the thumb stud but the flipper won't swing the blade enough without some small wrist action. G10 handles are fine but this would be super with carbon fiber.

I wish it was as good as the other one that I bought
When I received it I had high hopes for it but this soon drained away. The previous one that I received was a five star for sure and this would be also but the screws in the scales were misfitted into it. Three were too long and stuck above the level and one was cross threaded and stuck out. I can live with the three that stuck out but the one cross threaded gives it this rating. Otherwise this is a fine product.

Good knife
I really like Firebird/Ganzo knives. They hold up well, and this one is no different. I tend to use Ganzo knives as knives to beat up on, as I don't like to use my Benchmades and Microtechs for much beyond light duty cutting. The Ganzo knives hooks up for things like prying, hammering on the back, and driving screws. None of these are activities a knife is designed to do, but these hold up well. The only reason I keep buying new ones is I keep losing them (and, let's be honest, as a knife guy, I just like getting new knives). The price on these is well worth it.
