This is a great stove, the instructions are very useful. However, the guarantee can be invalidated if the stove is over heated within the first 30 or so hours. As it is cast iron, it requires tempering over this period with small burns. During this time the paint finish on the stove will give off a significant odour during tempering. So far we are happy with the stove, looks great and keeps us warm.

I was so worried when I purchased this, all the mixed reviews. I dont know why it burns beautifully. I followed the rules with gradually increasing the heat and the glass has not cracked. Easy to clean and elegant accessory to our home gives it a warm welcoming feeling. Thank you to the company I purchased it from fir all the help and advice 1st class service and cant recommend them enough as a seller.

If I had been able to read the warranty disclaimer before ordering I would not have brought this stove. However, that said; it is easy to light and modulates well. The installer had no problems setting it up, and aside from the risk of voiding the warranty by having too big a fire to quickly and cracking the shell not a problem. Had it running a few days now: Screw closed primary air vents do not close on to a machined face so do bleed air into the stove which results in a small section of black glass that is pretty much unavoidable. Good heat output and shell retains heat well. Ash pan a bit flimsy and glass front retaining nuts loosen which means more air bleed and more black glass. Not two years old and rusting on top, poor quality coating.

We’ve had our Saltfire Eco installed for around a month. We’re very please with it so far, it’s easy to use and the amount of heat it throws out is superb.
