My daughter has been asking for a bento-style lunch, and I finally decided to get this. It arrived within two days in a nice box with clear instructions. It is BPA free, freezer safe, and somewhat microwave and dishwasher safe. The outer shell should not be placed in the dishwasher or microwave, and the food jar is not microwavable, as expected for insulated jars. The parts that can go in the dishwasher should be placed on the top shelf, and microwaving for longer than three minutes is not recommended. It comes with its own utensils and a small cup with a lid, perhaps for yogurt. There is also a divider for the rectangular compartments, which adds flexibility for packing. The box seems pretty leak proof on the outside, but I am not sure how well the inside compartments would contain liquids if the dishes you pack have a little juice. However, the flap that holds the utensils on top of the dishes underneath looks like it helps prevent mixing.It is a versatile, functional, and high-quality bento box, but at $40, the price feels a little steep. I usually buy multiples of airtight plastic lunch boxes for my two kids so I do not have to wash the same box every day. That probably would not be practical with this one if you do not want to break the bank. Overall, it is high quality and functional, but may not be the most practical or economical choice, so four stars from me.

As soon as my daughter seen me unboxing this, she asked if it could be hers!The quality was way better than expected, I love how versatile it is!The bento box itself can be removed entirely for cleaning. The thermos quality is better than others I’ve purchased in the past and is a good size.My daughter has taken it to school and as suggested I put hot water in the thermos first to help keep her food hot until lunch. Additionally she’s also taken yogurt in the thermos and said it was still nice and cold (no one likes warm yogurt).So far there’s been no leaking and I’ve only washed the container itself on the top rack of the dishwasher. The thermos and small container I have only hand washed.The lunch box to carry it in has a great size water bottle pocket that actually fits my daughters 24oz stainless steel cup- which was a huge plus for her cause she likes to bring her water with her to lunch.Definitely recommend!

This storage set is huge for a kid—plenty of space for a main meal with extra spaces for snacks. There’s a thermos, utensils and it even comes inside a nice lunch box! There are gaskets on each compartment that keep liquids from getting out. Spacious, well thought out and convenient.
