Wonderful product AND amazing customer service
This review is not only for the 35L pack that I purchased, but also for the outstanding customer service provided by the team at Outdoor Foundry. To make a long story short, I had been looking at this bag to purchase for over a year, but really couldn't afford it. I kept putting it in my shopping cart and then taking it back out. I was using a regular dry bag as a substitute for it until I could afford one, and that just wasn't cutting it anymore, so I decided to bite the bullet and order it a few weeks ago. When it popped up on my screen, there was an option listed that said "available at a lower price from another seller". It was around $25 cheaper, but it said that only (1) was available, so I snatched it up with lightning fast speed. When my new bag arrived, it was packaged in plastic with the manufacturer's tag attached. I inspected it, and it looked great except for a small tear near the top and another spot (also near the top) that wasn't torn but definitely looked stressed. I was disappointed, but decided that, after waiting so long, I just couldn't bring myself to return it and basically contacted the manufacturer to see what options I had to repair it on my own.Chris at Outdoor Foundry was quick to respond but seemed perplexed about my order - something wasn't adding up on their end. It turned out that, in my excitement to finally get this bag at a lower cost, I ordered a "used in very good condition" version of it without realizing it. I just wasn't paying attention. Totally my fault. So when Chris realizes this, he tells me that the bag is out of warranty, and that it can't be repaired at no cost (bummer), BUT - in the course of our conversations, I had explained the unique was in which I was utilizing it, and he thought that was pretty cool, so he asked for my mailing address so that he could send me a brand new one. I was speechless! Needless to say, Outdoor Foundry gets a SOLID 5 star rating on customer service. As to the bag itself - I won't regurgitate what other buyers have marveled at regarding the spaciousness, ease of use, comfort factor, and overall ability to keep things dry - the bag absolutely, positively does what it's supposed to do. I "hike" rivers (not along the bank, but straight up through the middle), and I study the health and ecology of whatever body of water I'm in (as well as educate other folks), so I have to carry everything from a mask/snorkel to collection equipment to tools to a fishing pole. It all fits in/on the bag, and I actually have room to spare for bringing whatever I've collected back with me. Sometimes this pack ends up being in the 50-60 pound range (or more) by the end of the day, and it's still comfortable. As a plus, I haven't noticed any "stress points" from the amount of weight that I routinely require it to accommodate. I often have to swim with it on my back, and even fully loaded it maintains a measure of buoyancy (and NO leaks!), so the pack itself also gets a solid 5 star rating.Over time, I will have the need to purchase additional packs as team members are added, and the 35L bag from Outdoor Foundry is the ONLY pack that I intend to buy from now on. Good job, guys!

Good buy
Looking for a decent sized backpack drybag... this is it. Used a few times before posting this review. I needed a bag that would handle open ocean conditions. This bag was handled by airline workers, been in the sand, dirt, rain, and endured open ocean weather more then once.Originally looking for a 40l back pack and found this instead. This bag seems rugged enough, stitching isn't coming apart yet. Lots of storage, love the extra mesh side pockets, bungee, and outside zipper. All handy for small quick access items. The backpack straps are solid and comfy with lots of adjustment, waist strap and clips sinch everything down nice and tight. I wish there were other colors but the blue is bright and easy to see for safety/location reasons. Most important kept my stuff dry.Lots of people ask me where I got my bag...*I didn't get any special perks, no discounts!! Like these other chumps.

Great purpose-built pack for the price, room for durability improvements
Changing my review from a 5 star to a 3 star after 2-3 weeks of daily commuting use: non-welded seams (aka stitched) could be more robust. The stitches that hold the mesh side pockets up are loose on both sides, and are coming unraveled (no excessive use). I’ll either have to repair these or remove them entirely.——-original review——When this pack arrived, it wasn't quite what I thought it was going to be - it seemed too large and rigid... That was until I took the time to fill it and fit it and actually wear it out and about. All I have to say is amazing (and not just for the price). This pack sits well & carries a lot of weight gracefully (even weight distribution across shoulder, chest and waist straps). I've been using it daily for over a week now, but the real test will be to see how this holds up to everyday use.If I could change one thing it would be to increase the circumference and depth of the mesh side pockets (for bottles, etc.). 20 oz bottles or a slim coffee mug seem to be about the max you can fit into these side pockets - meaning your Nalgene won't fit.Mine didn't come with the document insert that's shown in the product picture, but the inner lining with the laptop sleeve contains several pockets that are quite handy.Kudos to Outdoor Foundry!

The backpack is nice and comfortable
The backpack is nice and comfortable. The problem is that after only 1 day of use I noticed one big hole between the outside pocket and the internal storage. The outside pocket is not water proof and because of that the backpack became useless. The water can go inside the pocket and consequently inside the backpack. The picture shows the hole inside the backpack that conects to the external pocket.1 star because it is comfortable and nice but with that problem it just doesn't acomplish its purpose, wich is be waterproof.

Large and most definitely keeps things dry. One issue, as a backpack it is too heavy
Large, high quality and most definitely keeps things dry. One issue, as a backpack it is too heavy. There are much lighter materials in the market for this purpose.
