Protein 29 Conditioning Hair Groom Hair Tonic 4 oz

I do 2 mi. on the treadmill every day before breakfast and so have to wash my hair daily. I hate what I call Greasy Kid Stuff. I have used Protein 29 for perhaps 40 yrs. but now cannot buy it in the stores any more.. Why? I have no idea since it's clearly the best 'hair oil' (not oily!) available. Puts everything else in the shade. I'm glad I can finally buy it at a reasonable price (free shipping!) through Amazon.

This is the first time I've tried this. It works fine. Since the gel is pretty much worthless, I thought I'd give it a try. I'm not disappointed.

Oily - YES. But it helps hold the hair in place, and keeps the hair from looking like you should be playing guitar in a Southern Rock Band... What is Protein 29 tho?

This hair tonic does what it says. It keeps your hair looking healthy (not oily), manageable, and with no type of residue or oil. There is, though, one big problem: it stinks like death. It smells like straight up industrial cleaner and always have to cut it with some Jeris tonic to mask the smell. If it smelled like Jeris, it would be my favorite tonic, hands down. But it doesn't so I must continue to mix it.

I have used this for quite a while and am not too wild about the hair sprays but use them occasionally if it's windy out. This is nice to put some on your hands and just go over the top of your hair or rub into the hair if that's the way a person likes to use it. I found it washes off the hands easily when you're done grooming the hair. This has been a favorite of mine ever since I tried it many years ago.

Received items promptly. The lid was loose on one bottle and one half of the product was gone. Package was wet and greasy. Emailed company twice and have not had a response.

I'm 55 years old and have used Protein 29 for a large number of those years. I was very frustrated when I could no longer find the product locally. I'm very happy to find it available here. I wasn't looking forward to trying to find anything that compares. I don't think anyting is out there that would compare. Protein 29 isn't greasy but keeps my hair in place. I don't know how it works - but it does! I'm buying several bottles in case they stop making it.
