A must have if you plan on building a Pergola.
We are getting ready to build a Pergola and this book is just what we need. It gave us so many ideas, things we hadn't thought of yet. This information will save us much more money than the cost of the book. Very good investment if you are planning to build a Pergola.

Not quite what I thought it was
Though it was more of a book with more than one type of pergola ideas. My mistake. This is just one set of pergola plans. I'm just starting with the idea of making a pergola so I want different ideas on what exactly to make. Not to say these are crappy plans necessarily tho.

Not very clear in some aspects
Most of the book has fairly clear instruction on building the pergola to their size. If you are not a skilled carpenter I am not sure that to "resize" the plans would be in most do it yourselfers ability.

Thin plan for one style
If you want one thin plan for one Pergola style as pictured, then this may work for you. I returned the item, but was still stuck with shipping costs. Both to me in original charge and then again from me paid at USPO. They should list the number of pages in the ad. As in a few. When the package came in it was thick, but wait, it was a catalog included that was thick. The plan itself could have been mailed for $1.20. The catalog was more interesting actually. Alternatively, you can get a lot of Pergola ideas from Google images of which some link to more details. With so much information out there, I expected more from Amazon fulfillment. I have purchased countless items from Amazon, but this is the first time that I said.. wait a minute... I need to let people know what to expect on this one. I gave it a 2 star because the plans are detailed enough for you to make the Pergolas as pictured. However the ad should more clearly state the number of pages etc, and not be a too clever description that is accurate but misleading at the same time. Yes, I am talking to you ad writer. Fix it! Thanks too all!

Outstanding...
Anyone wanting to build their own pergola should own these plans. Excellent for building a beautiful, solid, custom-sized structure. You can't go wrong. You should also purchase the plans for building a swing to hang from the pergola.

BUILT THIS LAST WEEKEND
I ORDERED THESE PLANS A WHILE BACK AND WAS PUTTING THE PROJECT OFF FOR A WHILE. WHEN I DECIDED TO BUILD IT THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE SPOT ON!

Excellant if you don't need to change dimensions
Plans are helpfull if you don't need to alter the size. Any changes presents some difficult math issues in order to keep the symetry of construction. Better to get the right size plans. With that said, my pergola was beautiful when finished.
