Bring Your Eyes and See (International Adventures) Paperback – November 25, 2014

This review is biased as I am privileged to know Steve & Marie Goode and their story is one of faith, commitment, service and perseverance under the most difficult of circumstances. Simply put they are outstanding people living outstanding lives and in their book they describe their life stories, separately and together, the significant events that they have been involved in and we gain valuable and intimate insights into where they get their infectious optimism, drive and motivation. After enjoying reading their book I reflected that many people get involved in random and occasional acts of service but for Steve and Marie theirs has been a lifetime of service which has been their passion and calling. For anyone involved in serving others or even just thinking about it this book is an inspirational read about how two people have used their gifts to have a significant beneficial impact on the world we live in today.

A great read and an honest story of God writing a bigger story. The Goode's detail their challenges and hardships as well as their successes. So thankful for people like them who say "yes" to God, even when it cost them. Thanks Steve and Marie. The world is not the same because you are in it.

We met the Goodes years ago in Afghanistan. If only we had known their story then! Steve and Marie are other-focused and spent their time listening, not regaling us with tales. But they could have. This book gives an overview of how the Lord is working through His people among the neediest in the world - refugees, the trafficked, and those who have suffered disasters. It is a history and a call. Read it.

Loved reading the honest stories of unconventional faith in the lives of Steve and Marie Goode. They have enough adventures for several people’s lives, trusting the Lord through several difficult situations !

Loved all the quotes Steve and Marie chose at the beginning of each chapter. So fun to read their adorable love story and learn more about their adventures. Highly recommended for anyone living a life of service around the world or wanting to.

We LOVE the Christian Heroes Then and Now series of books!! We've read almost all of them! So we thought we would like this too but it is just not very interesting. I rarely set a book aside because I like to finish what I start. But my kids and I had to put this one down. After getting more than half-way through it, we just couldn't do it anymore. We kept waiting and waiting for it to pick up, and it just didn't.

A beautiful book written by a couple who know how to love not only in words but through their actions. Their book brought tears to my eyes and I couldn't put it down.
