Paralenz Dive Camera Plus

Have had camera since Aug 18 and have made 70+ dives with it over 6 dive trips. I use the camera at the end of the third person viewer pointing forward with 18” x 24” extension. This method allows for less camera shake and lets me ger closer to what ever I’m videoing. Paralenz has been simply outstanding in responding to whatever issues I have encountered. I had an issue with the camera not holding my settings. They responded in 1 day giving me the fix to the program. On another occasion I inquired as to whether they could supply me with the clip on the third person viewer that holds the camera. One of the ears had broken on mine. Their response was to send me an entirely new viewer at no cost. Recently the selector ring became difficult to move eventually becoming totally frozen. I emailed about my problem and they responded with a prepaid label for me to send it to their repair facility. They received on a Monday. The following Thursday I received what amounted to a new or refurbished camera. I offered to pay for any repair costs as my U.S. 1 year warranty had expired 4 months ago. Additionally I had used some rather aggressive methods ( crescent wrench) to try to force the selector ring thereby a fading the camera body and selector ring. In spite of the out of U.S. warranty and my abusing the camera, no charges were levied - plus they paid for shipping both ways.Regarding camera performance I could not be more pleased. I used use Sony HD video inside an Ikelite housing with a magenta filter. The Paralenz outperforms the old rig in all aspects the color correction and overall picture quality is superior. The only deficiency in the Paralenz is that it does not do macro as well as the Sony.. overall the quality of the pictures, its compact size and its wide variety of features makes it a winner for me. Add to that the outstanding customer service.

The camera is awesome in terms of the built and the pic and video quality (6 stars!). It is easy to handle has great features built in and is very intuitive. So all this stuff is awesome! Having said that, the software is not. Downloads via WiFi are slow - that is if you get it to work. I simply use the memory card to download pics to my phone or computer. The camera froze several times on me under water while changing between video and snap shot. Figured I didn’t wait long enough??? So clearly they have to do some catching up with their software. Still, given how robust it is and the quality of pics and video I would buy it again!

I recently bought the Paralenz to use on a scuba dive in St Croix and I couldn’t be happier with the camera and the customer service I received. There was a minor issue with my order and after trading emails with someone in customer service, a representative in Denmark called to make sure I was happy with how the issue was resolved. While I was on the phone, the representative was asking me how I liked the camera, how I use it, and how it could be improved. He was genuinely interested in making sure the product was the best and finding out how they could make it even better.The camera itself is perfect for Scuba Divers and anyone that wants to take underwater video, in my opinion. The in-camera color correction makes the videos perfect right out of the camera, other than having to edit sometimes due to my shaky video skills. I also have a GoPro Hero5 and not having to worry about putting the camera in the SuperSuit if I’m diving below 30 feet, makes taking the Paralenz on every dive a no-brainer.The battery life is good and after spending a few minutes to get to know the iOS app, downloading and sharing the video is simple. I also love the fact that Paralenz just started their Paralenzworld.com website, which allows you to upload and store all your video to the cloud free of charge. Even better, you are able to access that video via your YouTube account.I’m still playing with different mounts to find out the best way to carry the camera on a dive, but it works perfectly if you use it like a torch. The mask mount is a great idea, but I’m still trying to find a way to mount it to the mask so that my exhaust bubbles don’t shake the video.I went back and forth for a few months trying to decide whether or not I wanted to buy this camera, but now I’m happy that I have.

Failed after just 1 dive. No visible water intrusion. Am working with Paralenz on warranty service. Have been responsive. I was able to recover the dive vids via SD card. Video was great. Want this camera to work. Will follow up.Warranty service was great. Quick turnaround and no issues with shipping.

Excellent video quality, logs your dives and the video is synced to where you were and what was being recorded at specific depths. You can scroll your dive log and your video will advance to what you were seeing at that time. Easily attaches to bcd with a gear keeper. This camera has custom settings that will start everything at a specific depth. Built in filters, clear video no matter which depths you are during your dives.

Purchased because of reputation and flexibility to dive with especially for the mask mount. Returned due to not meeting expectations and needs. Camera function is light and compact, but the mask mount allows for too much camera movement due to vibration to be useful. If you are planning to video using the mask mount to get good quality videos proceed with caution as you will need another method to secure to stop movement due to vibration.

Disappointed. In the green waters of the California coast the color correction was non existant. Honestly my go pro with a red filter did a better job. The digital color correction buffers in and putty in varying light condition making they video look obviously edited. The OSD didn't properly work either. The Camera design is great and very user friendly, however the correction quality (which is the only reason I bought this) just wasn't there. Maybe I'll try again in a year. Sadly I'm left disappointed.

Après 1 an et demi d'utilisation, je peux confirmer la solidité à toute épreuve de cette caméra!Les images sont magnifiques, sous réserve d'une assez bonne luminosité évidemment.La correction de couleur automatique est vraiment efficace.Une bonne autonomie, des modes de réglages bien pensés, un coffret de rangement fourni avec les accessoires de base pour bien protéger et entretenir la caméra.Il faut cependant faire attention à une chose: les cartes SD à utiliser doivent être des SanDisk Extreme Series (Pro ou Plus) de type U3 de taille maximum 128GB.Ensuite, il faudra de temps en temps s'assurer de mettre un tout petit peu de graisse au niveau des joints, chose facile et rapide avec le matériel fourni dans le boitier.Une autre opération un peu plus complexe est celle d'entretenir les aimants et les parties plastiques sous l'anneau sélecteur, mais les vidéos expliquent bien comment le faire sans risque.Une autre chose: le support ParalenzJ'ai eu donc un souci avec la bague de sélection car j'avais stocké la camera trop longtemps sans l'avoir rincée à l'eau claire, et la bague de sélection a commencé à coincer.J'ai envoyé un email à leur support, avec photo, explication, preuve d'achat, et le jour-même ils m'ont fait parvenir via DHL des pièces afin que je remplace le matériel gratuitement.Donc expérience support au top!

The media could not be loaded.  La cámara es muy fácil de usar y de configurar incluso bajo el agua (y con guantes). Su tamaño y forma son todo un acierto, la cámara es pequeña y se puede acoplar a la máscara. Las fotos son de calidad aceptable, teniendo en cuenta que no llevo ni foco, ni flash. Obviamente, si la luz ambiental baja, la foto pierde calidad. Creo que los vídeos salen algo mejor que las fotos. Vale la pena para quien no quiera cargar un armatoste con carcasa. El filtro incorporado es bastante eficiente (se puede configurar bajo el agua). Echo a faltar una aplicación para PC que gestione la cámara y sus fotos y vídeos. Esta gestión se realiza con el móvil y, para mí, la APP es algo pobre, lo dicho, preferiría una aplicación de escritorio para PC, por eso no le doy la quinta estrella (es que no me gusta trabajar con un teléfono móvil, mi generación conoció los móviles cuando ya rondaba los 40) . Aún así la recomiendo, es genial.

Quality design and build. All the features a diver needs in a compact camera you can clip to a D-ring as one would a backup light. For higher performance, you would need to spend $1000s on an aluminum housing and camera ( which I did 20 years ago).I did have to update its firmware to the latest version using a laptop (like a thumb drive) before it would connect with my iPhone. But this is just life in the digital world. Excellent iPhone app.

Ho utilizzato la Paralenz dive camera in un viaggio sub in Salento. La camera è davvero ottima e le dimensioni contenute ne fanno uno strumento eccezionale per riprendere sott'acqua. Ho utilizzato la risoluzione più bassa (1080p 60 FPS) e il risultato è davvero notevole. L'unica cosa che non ho apprezzato è stata la comunicazione con l'App per iPhone. L'applicazione è buona ma la comunicazione wifi è instabile e diventa davvero noioso (se non impossibile) vedere l'anteprima dei video girati e scaricare i log. Una volta sistemata la comunicazione wifi con i dispositivi mobili il giudizio è 5 stelle piene.

Nach bereits 2 Werktagen wurde die Kamera geliefert. Alles vorhanden wie angegeben. Das Beste an der Verpackung: Absolut kein sinnloser Plastikmüll.Kamera funktioniert ebenfalls. Bedienung mit der App ist einfach, das firmware update ebenso. Die App ist nur in englischer Sprache verfügbar. Das sollte man wissen. Dennoch übersichtlich und mit normalem Schulenglisch zu verstehen.Die mitgelieferten mounts lassen sich super einfach anklippen. Weiterer Vorteil: Die Schrauben von z.B. GoPro Mounts sind kompatibel. Das heißt man kann die Paralenz Kamera an alle deren Mounts befestigen. Ebenso mit meiner "sandmarc" Teleskopstange. Somit ist man nicht auf das relativ teure Zubehör von Paralenz angewiesen. Sehr fair.Über Wasser spitzen Bilder und Videos gemacht. Soweit der erste Eindruck. Sobald unter Wasser getestet folgt ggf. ein Update.
