Rimsky-Korsakov - Scheherazade: Get to Know Classical Masterpieces Paperback – October 1, 2006

I made a mistake on this product. I did not read carefully enough. I thought it was the full score for Scheherazade, and it's not. So, it is a good product. It contains the most popular melodies from Scheherazade, as well as some of the story line behind the melodies, but it is not what I expected it to be.

This is a very well-made arrangement of Scheherazade. It's simple and clean without being dumb and it isn't afraid of using some intermediate-level touches where necessary. It has helpful notations, like finger positioning for some of the trickier chords. The book covers the whole piece, from The Sea and Sinbad's Ship to the Festival of Bagdad, the Shipbreak and ending. They have some cuts to make them shorter, but they don't finish halfway-through like songs in most music sheet books. I also appreciate the lovely illustrations. It's how simple arrangements should be, I wish the average music book for beginners were more like this one.
