I'd say they run between narrow & medium. My feet are narrow & I'm very pleased with the fit. These boots are very comfortable.

Q: I plan to wear these boots with light to medium thick socks. Do you recommend ordering a 1/2 size bigger?

The boots are true to fit unless you have wide feet. For my taste, the boots were slightly narrower than they appear in the photos. I wear them with somewhat thick socks and they still fit well.
