works great and they can be calibrated. you will be hard pressed to find any that can be calibrated for that price of these

The issue is it needed to be calibrated just as the round one did. I just let them sit in a same space and the % off in RH needed 16 clicks CC there were only 10. So I moved it all the way CC and it then read low then moved the knob back until ti read the same as the round one I calibrated. The main issue is the set button , I pushed it and nothing happened then I used a tooth pick with the end broken off and it worked , sometimes the button would go it and come out on an angle so I had to move it just right then it was where it should be. They need to make the button a bit longer then this will not happen , unless I got one that was not made proper. I now reads no more than 1% higher than the calibrated one and the temp is most often the same. The round one set button just works well and never sticks.

I was very happy to have received this item so quickly and for so little money! I was going to buy two more but really had no immediate use for them. On the other hand, they could replace a few analogs I have going. I didn't expect much because of the low cost and with no postage and handling to boot! So, why not five stars? The only reason I did not give it five stars is because it takes almost an entire day to adjust and see the results as well. This could be my own ignorance of digital hygrometers, however. For all I know, this is how they all work. You find out the deviance in the humidity and then you know to adjust by using the extra dial they provide and count, "clicks" for each degree of deviance. I personally cannot tell (due to calloused hands) how many of those clicks I clicked - leaving me to have to repeat it a few times - each time taking many hours for the reading to level out before I can tell if I am done with the fine tuning. I had a couple of occasions where the readout was too low and I could not adjust the knob any farther to the right. Not knowing what to do, I put the knob in the middle and then pressed the little button - which allowed me the room to adjust. I have no idea if this is supposed to work, it just does for me. Also purchasing the Boveda hygrometer calibration kit was invaluable for use as a constant to adjust to. I would recommend this to anyone who has a need for a hygrometer but not one of a scientific level.

It looks like very good quality unit. I bought it to compare with cheaper house hygrometers. When calibrated on 75% it showed 78, then I moved calibration pot ( instruction is calling for some "clicks", but for me it is pot, no clicks). When moved left pot button to 75 on screen, pressed set button ( small) and unit is perfectly calibrated. It is small size and numbers are visible. Shows F and C units.

Temperature is accurate but humidity reading was checked with a Boveda test kit and was 4% high. After adjustment and a retest it still was 4% high. The adjustment was at the lowest level so I am stuck with one that is 4% high and can't be adjusted to be accurate.

Works great. I always recommend a battery powered set like this one over the ones found on the front of some humidors, which are not as accurate.

Upon receiving the first one I did the 75% test and the unit read 68%. I tried to adjust the knob and nothing happened no matter which way I turned it so I sent it back for a replacement. The second one read 49% when given the 75% test. Turning the calibration knob had no effect this time as well. I sent it back for a refund. Two in a row that failed told me all I needed to know.

For the price, you can't do much better. It works great and really does adjust to correct readings quickly.A couple nice additions are the conversion between Fahrenheit and Celcius, and the calibration wheel that will let you turn up or down the reading in 1% increments.This model comes in both rectangular and round, so it's nice to have the option.The little magnet it comes with is pretty pathetic, though. Minus one star for not really being able to mount it without my own double sided tape. Meh, what are you gonna do? It's still a great hygrometer for the price.

Accurate and easy to read! Simply device that does what it's supposed to. Good buy.

It was a little tricky to calibrate, but if you follow the instructions, you can get it set up in just a few hours.Nice size for the top of the humidor. The display is large and easy to read in a glance.

Bought this a bit cheaper as refurbished, appearance was good, however it totally did not function even after recallibration. Not pleased plust cost extra to return.

Wish I didn't buy this. Even with the adjustments this hygrometer can't find 75% while using the Boveda one step hygrometer calibration kit. I've used multiple different analog hygrometers and calibrated them in the same calibration kit as this digital one.
