Part of a three-volume series on the SS' uniforms, this book covers the pre and early-war period uniforms of the SS and offers many citations for its claims, including RFSS orders and lots of information pertaining to production. The photos are also fantastic, most of which are full-page and present all the small details clearly. It includes both original period photos as well as some photographs taken of items in modern-day collections, including some very unique discoveries that would fascinate many folks. Good to have if you're interested in this time period's wear.

MICHAEL BEAVER'S BOOKS ARE THE BEST REFERENCE BOOKS YOU CAN BUY. THEY ARE NOT CHEAP, BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY. THEY ARE VERY LARGE AND IN COLOR. AND THE CLOSE-UP PHOTOS ARE AMAZING. IF YOU COLLECT OR HAVE INTEREST IN THIS SUBJECT, YOU NEED ALL HIS BOOKS.

A good structurized research that gives you a full view on this subject.Only pants and jackets examined, no caps (as a part of uniform). The volume might be 1,5 times thinner: some pages only half filled with information... But rarity of the items and quality of thier analisys allow to consider this book the best research on SS uniform for today.

This book is incredible, I would love to get the other volumes. Very well put together and informative for history buffs. Very detailed photos on almost every page.

まず大判、大写しで質感や色を把握できる写真が多数収録されています。当然、英文ですが読めずとも資料的な価値は大きいです。自分を含めて多くの人は実物を手に取り見る機会は少ないはずです。なのにレプリカ軍服の出来、不出来を判断できるのでしょうか。縫製の質などどれを選んでも大差はありません。むしろ不出来な部分にこそ本物っぽさを感じる物です。収録されている写真を目に焼き付けてから見るレプリカは別のものに見えるはずです。1着2〜3万の不出来なレプリカを買うより良い資料を手に入れることをお勧めします。
