Reborn! TV Series Volume 1 SDBD

Hitman REBORN!!! Amazing or Waste of time?
This is an... Odd series I bet since I only watched like 2 episodes and it certainly is rather an odd series.... But hey if this is like any typical shonen anime it will get better as the show goes along.Just commenting on the actual SDBD format. It's AMAZING that they can fit practically 100+ episodes on just TWO blu-ray disks. Granted yes they are in their original standard definition format, meaning no touching up or anything, simply that they ported the episodes as it is on a blu-ray format. But holy frack that's a lot of episodes 2222 minutes yikes did the math it will take you around 30+ hours to watch this entire thing.Just look at how many people complain about remasters, go on youtube and watch the Batman animated series blu-ray/dvd comparison and find that a majority of people actually prefer it in it's original format. So hell SDBD should be like a dream come true for these people! And yet.... The reviews for any and all of the released SDBD by this company has basically less than 10 reviews per product.... Not counting Fist of the north star.Technical features would be 1:33:1 Full Frame (DAR) 480p standard definition though I would HIGHLY recommend you put this in a 4:3 Aspect Ratio (Also known as Picture Format) on your TV settings while watching this because honestly? It stretches the old animation a lot.... It's just better in a 4:3 Ratio.Ya it's only in Japanese audio Doby Digital 2.0 (slightly better audio from what it was released) with english subtitles so keep that in mind while viewing this show.Would I recommend this show? I don't know, it really depends on the viewer....I find bleach amazing but some people find it trash. I would recommend watching like an AMV before buying to see if this is the type of show for you just to give you a flash of what the show is.Last note there is a Collection 2 coming for seasons 5-9 in near the end of October if you are indeed intrested in this show, pre-order it now.Bless you Discotek media for this release, special thanks to eastern star, film works, d-rights for working on this. I SALUTE YOU!!! Keep doing gods work 👍

Best purchase I’ve ever made
Okay. This is a series I’ve previously watched before and it is my number one favorite of all time. I was esctaic to see it was on dvd (because when I previously watched it, there was no dvd versions at all) and knew I had to buy it as soon as I could. Not buying it just wasn’t an option. Normally I’m hesitant when buying a dvd (in this case blu Ray) that’s over $30 but the price is worth it. Most shows will make you pay thirty dollars for anywhere from ten to twenty-six episodes. This has over 100 episodes. For around $50 that’s probably the best deal you’ll ever find.

Best Shonen Jump anime I've seen thus far, for the first time on home video in North America!
Note: I will edit this post when I get this item.I'm up at the Future Arc so far on Crunchyroll, and I gotta say, despite the just-good animation, everything else is perfect! Like, oh crap, parents... don't think this is just a cartoon because of babies that kinda remind you of Rugrats... this is one hell of a show! I've got no more words for it, because I'm not that big of a critic (lol)! In case Amazon gets something wrong about this item, I have some right things about it. This Discotek Media product is a Sub-only release (because of Viz Media's intentions to promote their streaming service) on "SDBD" containing the first 4 seasons and the first 101 episodes spread on JUST 2 BLU-RAY DISCS (50-51 episodes each)! There are reasons for this that makes the format interesting, and GOOD for collectors and people who care about video quality. For Shonen Jump fans that don't know who Discotek Media is, they are a rather small anime licensing company that goes for a unique approach of distributing older titles, especially ones animated by the likes of Toei Animation (Fist of the North Star and Kyousougiga) and TMS (Lupin III and Sonic X). A good amount of their titles aren't so bare-bones compared to the new anime distributed by Funimation and Sentai FIlmworks.About SDBD, according to their poll created last February, 82% of the over 2,000 people voted for that format for any anime without an HD master that's 24+ episodes long. Comparing to DVD, the SDBD format will have a better encode, better audio (as it should be), more durability, and more shelf-friendly (due to its thin package). Plus, it's cheaper than the DVD format, due to the number of Blu-ray Discs produced compared to the number of DVDs produced for its own set. Just compare the number of Blu-rays to DVDs and its prices for Fist of the North Star Complete Series sets and you'll see why. Besides, if you're a true anime fan who cares about video quality, you would go for the Blu-ray anyway, and Discotek Media is trying to keep that trend fresh. Why go for this instead of the Japanese regular Blu-rays? If you check on the forums (like Fandom Post), you'll see that their upscale is more of a hack job. The 4:3 episodes made in SD were affected the most, but it affected the 16:9 episodes too (seasons 5-9; episodes 102-203). The video itself was darkened out than it should be. It makes you think the series was NEVER made to be in HD in the first place. The one factor that makes you want to buy this is the Drama CDs that came in the three releases. All in all, if you're a fan of Reborn! who's excited it will be on home video for the first time in North America, and/or those who are interested in the SDBD format, this is a must get! This post is to show my hype for this. Again, I will edit this once I get the product itself.EDIT: I've gone through the rest of this series on Crunchyroll, and it is awesome! Discotek Media did a fantastic job on this release, although the audio is only Dolby Digital, which is the only way for the 50-56 episode discs to work without taking away video quality, in contrast to DTS-HD or LPCM which can be used in 24-26 or 38-40 episode discs, like Section23 is doing with Xabungle under Maiden Japan. The extras are a little barebones, with only a collection of OPs and EDs from the episodes in this set. Other than that, I am so proud of this release, and here's to hoping I get the second volume soon enough!

Great show but description lies
The description claims to have this show Dubbed in English. I was so excited. Finally pull it out of package just to find out it's only available subbed in English. I would rather watch it on hulu

Nothing is always as it seems 2 pals.
At 1st I thought it said it was English dub but after watching it 4 awhile, it wasn't the next minute 2 pals.

映像特典はノンテロップOP&ED(同じ歌の別バージョンも収録されている)。
