I have been making sublimated coffee mugs for years, using a convection oven and wraps. I have wanted a dedicated press for a while, however, and bought this one for a show I was going to do and make custom mugs but this press has some issues. Big mistake - and by the time I figured out these issues, it was one day before my show and too late to get in another press.The heating element is very uneven, and the only designs that would print properly with this press are ones that are very narrow, since the press does not provide nearly enough heat or pressure by the handle to fully transfer the image. For some reason this was not apparent when I was just just one or two in practicing, but once I start production and made mug after mug, spots started showing up. Any other design issues were that there was fading towards the bottom, even if I stopped the press halfway through and flipped the mug over.I am returning it and found a $200 press with good reviews at HPN. It is disappointing that Amazon only offers the cheapie imported ones like this and then the next step up is the $750 press... seems like there should be a midpoint in there somewhere.I gave it two stars because it was not difficult to operate and it DID turn on, just needs some fixes with the heating element.

The product works as advertised, has produced clean looking prints. A little tight with 15 oz mugs I would like be able to reduce the pressure slightly but it is workable. I had to reorder, wrong was item sent on first order but refunded and able to reorder with in 24 hours. Use in an high school so the only feature I would also hope for would be an auto shut off option.

the manual is not cear- or the machine doesn't work according to what the manual says. can't get the timer to work at all. and the temperature- never set itself to a specific degrees either. when I feel it's hot enough- & the tempretuare is moving in the 400 degrees area, I put the mug in, watch it for 2.5min, & take it out, the results is good.

The press work ok. However, It does not give an even distribution of pressure around the mugs. It's as if the cylinder was warped somehow and doesn't wrap evenly around the substrate. This created very uneven heating that overheats in a single area, causing the paper to brown in that area and possibly disturb sublimation print quality.

Nov 20, 2016- Very poor product. DOES NOT HEAT EVENLY!!! I ruined a number of mugs trying to test it. The worst part is the time lost now having to get a new machine. I don't know if I will be shopping on Amazon anymore for these. They certainly seem to be letting sellers in who shouldn't be allowed. The manual is also useless and riddled with spelling errors. DOES NOT FIT 15 OZ MUGS either!!! Barely fits an 11oz mug when I expand the heat sleeve to its fullest.Don't buy. RUN!!

i have been using this mug press for almost a year now it works perfectly every time i am very happy with it. it is very affordable for me i have just used this at least 3 times a week since purchased and have created over 300 mugs with it and it is still going strong cheap doesn't mean junk!!!!
