The Fragrance of Sufism (Shahmaghsoudi (Angha) Heritage Series on Sufism)

This is not a concise treatise about Sufism, this is sort of a "stream of consciousness" of the heart, so with the heart it must be read. I loved it.

The best basic explanation of Sufism the world knows. Developed for the modern thinker and student, this book places the emphasis on the fundamental features of understanding Sufism. The Fragrance of Sufism is a wonderful work of literature that's good for increasing one's own ability for inner understanding.

This inspiring collection of 3 masterpieces, reveals the heart of Sufism. The "Treasure on God's Path" enlightens the path of truth seekers; and "The Approaching Promise" wakes us up from this carnal sleep and takes us back to our divinity. And finally "The Secret Word" uncovers the truth of who we really are and helps us smell the fragrance of Sufism and see the magnificence that we truly are. Rumi the famous Sufi poet states: "The sea would be sea, no matter the drop's philosophy". This collection helps us break the limitation of our philosophical drops and frees us to experience the sea.

This is a weak approach to a serious topic. Sufism is a deeply insightful path that requires knowledge. Yet, this book fails to even touch upon the surface of Islamic mysticism. It rather seems like the unintelligible ramblings of someone who knows little to nothing about the path. Save your money. Better spent on other books written by true scholars and philosophers.

The Fragrance of Sufism clearly provides through three texts the truth about what Islam is in a clearand loving manner. The information in this book was so profound and enlightening that for me,my eyes became opened to the truth about Islam, it is the religion of love.

The Approaching Promise is a moving poetic rendition of the soul's journey, ending in "Unfold my wings, set me to fly, from the fortress of these dungeon walls, my liberation grant." The Approaching Promise beautifully describes the spiritual journey of an Aref. The Treasure on God's path clearly and carefully sets forth the basic tenets and principles of Islamic Sufism.

Sufism is a profound discipline of study. I found this book to break down major concepts and serve as a benchmark for my foundational research. Thank goodness for this book!

The author has delivered most beautiful, elegant eye- and heart-opening presentation of Sufism. As opposed to many others sources, this book is a collection of emotions, love, and attraction of lover to beloved, the mystery of Sufism, and the path to self-discovery. Its elegance and simplicity is different than others' work on the subject. Love having it in my collection... enjoy...
