The bristles on this one are better than the last one I owned. They are softer and not falling out faster than Amanda Bynes' teeth. Yes, you may ask yourself, or the tiny glitter viking living in your nightstand "why would she buy another one if the first one wasn't great?" And the tiny glitter viking will answer: "because it was a gift." The bristles are soft and may possibly be harvested from a thousand magic unicorns. (**no unicorns are harmed in the making of Belle Pierre cosmetic brushes. They shed their hair once yearly and it is gathered by a group of tree dwelling super gnomes. Do Not confuse them with the cookie tree elves; it's highly offensive.)Other Uses - Smoky eye: I found that not only is this brush best for lining the darker shade of eyeshadow at the top of the lid--middle between eyelash and eyebrow--but it also works quite well for smudging eyeliner. As my brushes age, I sometimes rinse and then use them to smudge eyeliner or blend lip gloss with matte lipstick. That's when I realize that a brush has left its glimmer glory days of shimmy shaking eyeshadow shading youth behind it. When I decide to dip it in lip gloss rather than night-on-the town sparkle shadow. When it's 2014 Madonna (caked with too much old grease,) not 1989 Madonna (soft on the edges and still twinkling like a Lucky Star.) Once it's done with eyeliner and lip gloss duties, it's off to the farm way out in the country, just like my childhood pets.**Overall - Joking aside, this is a sturdy brush. It's not Supergirl leaps and bounds above other high-quality makeup manufacturer's brushes, but it holds its own like Batgirl. Belle Pierre products have been reviewed by me many times and I highly recommend their shimmer powders whether you use their brushes or not.

This brush is a LOT smaller than I expected, that could be my fault, but I did expect it to be bigger. It's pretty hard to get shadow on it. The 'hair' is soft and didn't irritate my lids, but this brush is best used to blend small areas rather than to apply shadow. As long as you know that it's small and aren't looking to use this for application purposes, it's a fine brush.

The Bellápierre Shadow Brush is the perfect shadow brush, for loose pigments shadows. The shadow brush holds the pigments. Doesn't not fall by the time you put it on your eyelid. I love all their makeup!
