Eyeglass Repair Kit

Tried using the other kit with tiny screws/driver & magnifying glass, but proved to be too difficult. Used this kit with success, the screws are still difficult t place in while holding together, but it turns easy and breaks off very easy. Good purchase.

This is awesome. I was about to throw away my sunglasses but decided to try this because of the “snap off” because I could never use other repair kits and this was so easy. I bought two more.

I spent HOURS trying to fix my glasses, which had mysteriously lost the screw holding the ear piece on. Couldn't find a repair kit at any of the drugstores or local retailers, not even at the big W, and even resorted to buying cheap readers to cannibalize the screws! Which didn't work. Finally looked on Amazon (after using a piece of fishing line to hold my glasses together enough to use them). Was skeptical when I viewed this product, but thought to try it since it was just impossible to insert the tiny screws without having my glasses on so I could see (note to self, buy a cheap pair with my current lens prescription for these emergencies). So I ordered this... and it worked like a charm. Only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is that I had to try each one to find the correct size. Manufacturers could easily package the sizes separately with labels, color code, or package it like drill bits so you know what size you're using).

I have a pair of glasses I like to wear when I'm just puttering around the house. They're sturdy but not flattering so I rarely wear them anywhere else. When I'm working in the garden, at the barn training horses, or playing with the dog, my glasses often get knocked around a bit and these take a beating and keep on thicking...until a screw fell out.I tried the big set of screws and even if I found one that fit, the magnetic screwdriver didn't hold them stable enough to insert then work into the tight spring hinge hole on the arm. I even tried a 1mm music wire and while it was thick enough, it wasn't working to hold the arm steady.So I saw this set listed here an took a chance. The third screw (out of 4) in the set went in and screwed in tight. Tighter even than the original screw in the other arm. The long tip was long and sturdy enough to wiggle into the slightly off-set spring-hinge hole that only is exactly aligned with the front part of the glasses when the screw is fully tightened.I'm sure opticians have special clamps and braces to hold the frames exactly aligned when inserting regular screws but I'm an accountant, so I don't.I'm glad I bought the 2-pack so I have spares for the next time this happens.

I wear contacts during the day, but I have a decades-old pair of glasses that I wear at night. Since I only wear them at home, I've never felt the need to buy new ones.The screw on the right hinge came out one day and I couldn't find it, so I repaired it using a kit from my local drugstore. However, since the screw from the drugstore kit was too short, the repair never lasted. About once a month, I'd wake up to find that my right lens had fallen out because the hinge had come loose again and I'd have to re-tighten the screw.This happened again this weekend, but try as I might, I could NOT get the darned screw to stay in. It's so frustrating trying to squeeze the frame together, pinch a tiny screw in your fingers, and screw it in all at the same time!This product is absolute genius! My first surprise was actually finding a screw in the kit that was long enough and fit snugly without me feeling like I was stripping the hole! My second surprise was how fast the repair was. I was completely done in less than 30 seconds after selecting the right screw! Best of all, I feel completely confident that I won't be having my pesky hinge problem anymore! If I could rate more stars, I would!

Works when other screw wouldn't go all the way through

I was able to fix my glasses after part of the locking screw came out of one of the arms. It was so quick and easy! I compared my old screw with the replacement screw to find the right size, put it in the arm, and snapped. It only took a few minutes. The hardest part was removing my old screw.
