The Reader's Digest Children's Songbook

UPDATE: I looked for the right product, found the book again, with this same company, and a fraction of the price. I ordered it again, since returns are so easy and I received the right book this time. I love it and I am very happy with my purchase now. Not giving a full 5 stars though, due to first issue talked about below...Was not what was described. Not the size, not spiral bound, no playable music at all. I thought it was my mistake. Reread description, not my mistake. Very dissatisfied!

I grew up with my dad playing songs from this book, and now my son is sharing them with his young daughter. It has happy pictures (we recognized and requested songs based on them), guitar chords, plus numbers under the notes (1=C, etc.) for those just learning to read music. The spiral binding means it stays open on the piano. My copy is completely worn out, so I was delighted to find a new one for the next generation.Wonderful childhood memories, and now we're making more!

This is a great book. I am a 50-something grandma and my granddaughter (3 years old) and I go through the book and choose songs to sing. So many I used to know and forgot, and so many I never heard of. It is sturdy and spiral bound. I love it! (I see this as something I pass down...)

I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of this book. I have looked for this book for months. I am doing online music lessons and my student was using this book but I didn’t have it to help them out. When I found it, I jumped at the chance, not really caring the condition it was in. It looks brand new!!!! Doesn’t even seem like it was opened before I got it. Thank you!!!! You made a music instructor and student very happy!

Perfect for Sing- a-longs- with-kids. They love the songs! The are funny. I remember most all of them from my own childhood. I had missed out a lot being deaf/hard-of-hearing. Now I have cochlear implant. So it's much more enjoyable.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Both the music and lyrics. There is a smaller book that comes with just the lyrics and no sheet music-this is attached in the larger song book. Has everything that I was looking for, familiar songs and nursery rhymes.

I play the piano, was a piano teacher and let me tell you, the students loved this book. They played it until I felt like I had to purchase another one. The notes are easy to read, yet the sound comes out like an adult playing the notes. This makes the students want to practice more and play for others. Thank you,Amazon!

Lovely book, full of fun! I have a 2 year old who loves to sing and I’m looking forward to accompanying him on the piano. The songs that don’t have a left hand melody have the chord named above. The keys are easy to sight read and they’re in a good range (slightly high) for little kids.

A favourite to play and teach out of. My only request is that they update the book a little - maybe get rid of songs like "I Love Little P**sy" (about a cat, but common...)
