Old Blue-Eyes
For those of us old enough to have witnessed the entire career of Frankie, from the Bobby-Socksers ot the late 30s up through his later years, this was a serious reliving of his many, many hits. As the teenage idol with the Tommy Dorsey big band and throughout his professional life, he was a class act, and probably the best male popular song stylist of my lifetime. Anyone interested in a story of his life in his songs should really enjoy this, and for those interested in the history of big band, swing, blues and more that was popularized during his life, listen and learn!

Sinatra plus Ella: Terrific!
Contrary to another reviewer, I consider the picture qualityto be quite acceptable. All four specials are excellent, but my favorite is "A Man and His Music+ Ella+Jobim".The show's highlight occurs in the last half with afree-wheeling medley by Frank and Ella. It's almost as goodas Ella's amazing blues medley with Dinah Shore on Dinah'swonderful "Chevy Show" (you can see it on YouTube). And, by the way, someone should get wise and put out a setof Chevy Show highlights..

You gotta admit that the Chairman in his prime was great. I was too young to ever see him live. I love the big band sound that backs him up. The DVD with Ella Fitzgerald is priceless. She was off-the-charts talented.

Excellent testament to Sinatra the entertainer
Despite not the best quality of picture in this DVD (lack of digital technology restoration treatment), these three TV specials from the mid 1960s are an excellent testament to Frank Sinatra, probably the best traditional pop-music entertainer of the 20th century.Three programmes, clocking at about 52 minutes, offer a cross-section of Sinatra's best-known and beloved hits from the Reprise era (and some earlier stuff). Any fan of the top crooner should be absolutely satisfied with all three editions, taking listeners and viewers from full swing to touching ballads, still, Sinatra is always humorous in spoken interludes (there are not too many). The 1965 special features Nancy Sinatra (for obvious reasons), the 1966 is full of Ella Fitzgerald (whom Sinatra admired very much and it shows from his interactions with her, although she may be suffering a bit from stage-fright) and Tom Jobim, the father of bossa nova in the eyes of the pop culture.

This item arrived safely in good condition. However the content of the DVD was not as good as I had hoped - Sinatra has done a lot better than this!

Good buy
Great. Mother-in law loves it!! Keeps her happy and enthralled. Would recommend for any other Frankie enthusiasts of any age. But not a stellar contribution from Ella Fitzgerald. Not sure the marriage of her style with Sinatra's works.
