Perfect for my 4 yr old!
I bought this after seeing others on the bunny hill with similar products. I took my 4.5 year old daughter for the very first time and without any formal lessons she was able to find her balance on skis and I was able to comfortably walk down the bunny hill while she slid on the skis. After a few runs I was able to keep the line slacked so she didnt have any assist to hold her up and she did great! When she did fall forward or backward it was very easy to pick her up with the back strap and she didnt complain about it at all. This product is great! I recommend doing this instead of paying for ski lessons. This makes it very easy for the kids to learn the balance on skis and practice in safe conditions. If I could give it more stars, I would!

Great customer svc!
The harness pack seems well-designed and sits low enough in the back that it wont throw ur child off balance so readily should u have to pull on the reins. I agree with others that the bungee strap also eases up on any jerking motion. After only a couple wears though, one of the plastic belt clasps broke a tooth upon unbuckling. Must've had a defective plastic part. So disappointed!...i contacted Launchpad Gear and explained what happened including pictures of the broken piece and asked them for a replacement clasp piece. They didnt hesitate in telling me they'd send me a replacement, and they ended up sending me a brand new ski harness! While i was surprised at how quickly the clasp broke, their customer svc was above and beyond! Thank you! (I'll update this if the clasp on the 2nd harness breaks again.)

Great product to get kids going on skis and beyond
The leash is a great concept for getting 2-4 year olds comfortable on skis (skip the edgie-wedgie thing, let them learn how to control their ski tips on their own!) during those years when they can go downhill and kind of turn but can't yet stop or really be in control or pay attention that well. And we still used this system on our kids when they could ski down most things just fine, but needed a pull from the handle to get on the lift, or would get scared on steeper stuff and want some help with the leash. If you're on the fence about getting this just go for it for the ease of charlift loading alone. And then discover the advantage of kids having longer days because they're less tired, and seeing more of the mountain to gain a love of skiing.

Training harness works great!
I bought the Launch Pad Ski and Snowboard Training Harness so we could help my 4yo niece learn to snow ski. Our first time using it was a great success! The harness was easy to get on her and adjust so she was comfortable. The straps tuck into the back pocket of the harness and are easily accessible when we're ready to go down the hill. We could control her speed and pull very gently on alternating straps to help her turn. She felt very comfortable with us using it with her and I think it gave her the confidence to practice without going too fast. After about an hour and a half, she was skiing down the bunny slope on her own. This harness will be priceless when it's time to go on the chairlift and tackle a bigger mountain. The handle on the back makes it easy to pick her up when she falls and I think it will help with getting her on and off the chairlift. This was a great purchase!

Great for a confidence builder!
Our 6 year old girl had a hard time switching from pizza to french fry easily and once she got some speed, she went way too fast and falls. She lost confidence and didn't want to leave the magic carpet. We knew she just needed the confidence on getting on her edges for control. The leash helped her tremendously! My husband was able to slow her down while she transitioned from edge to edge. She just needed that confidence boost that she could do it! She used the leash for maybe 3 runs total and now she is rocking the slopes and in control without the leash!!! Totally worth it. We still put it on her for the handle to help lift her onto the lifts since she is a tiny little thing. If you are on the fence on getting this...GET IT. We can now all go on the same runs without her going to fast! Plus she likes wearing it....she loves the color pink and she thinks she looks important wearing it.

This gave us the confidence to ski down the Swiss Alps with our kids!
We were so thankful to have these harnesses during our recent ski trip to Switzerland for our two kids, ages 6 and 7. They had skied once before and were doing well, but we were worried about the gap between bunny slopes in the U.S. and going down mountains in Switzerland! I'm so glad we bought these because I don't think I would have ever had the courage to take them beyond the kid's area otherwise. It was great to just let them wear the backpacks for the day, some areas they didn't need them and we just tucked the straps in. However, if there was a sharp turn or dropoff, we could just pull the straps out quickly to make sure they were safe. By the end of the week, I could tell my daughter was completely in control the whole time and didn't need it. That's the best part of this product... when your kids don't need it anymore! However, I can honestly say we would have never been brave enough to get her to that point if we didn't have the harness as a transition. Definitely recommend it!!

Great for keeping the family on the slopes
Some say that these are not great for teaching overall skills, but it's awesome for keeping us on the hill instead of being forced inside with the little one. We usually put him in a lesson and do some very small hills, but then are able to use the harness for longer green runs. Our son quickly got to a point where I would just attach one leash and leave it slack while he skied so that I could stop him if he got out of control.I am 6'3" and needed to put extensions on the leashes to avoid being too close.

A must have for begginers
This is much better than any other harness on the market. The elastic bands have been great for teaching both my kids to ski. I can nudge them to to turn by pulling the elastic band. It doesn't force him to turn right away. He feels pressure and starts to turn on his own. If he doesn't I can pull tighter and it will pull him back right away, but I like the nudging part. As they get older I leave the pack on, but take the straps off to help them get on the chairlift, and to pick them up when they fall. I purchased two of these and would recommend this to anytime teaching their kids to ski.

Great Product!
Used this winter for my 6 yr old daughter who is over the bunny hill and only wants to go on big runs. Quality product, looks good, comfortable to use for both the parent and the child. Straps are great length and have some flex which is ideal and doesn't jerk them at all. Easy to pack up at the bottom and ideal for helping smaller children get on chair lift and provide piece of mind while holding handle on the chair rides up the mountain. Leashes enable the adult skier behinds to turn properly and control the speed of the child on even the steepest (black diamond) runs.

Fantastic product, easy to use with confidence.
A great product, the bungee section allows control without harsh braking, son finds the harness comfortable to wear and the handle gives easy pickup and feels safe to secure child whilst on chair lift. Awesome product. Highly recommended. I'm a ski patroller teaching my two year old to ski and love the way he is growing in skill and confidence with this harness. I'm pretty sure it will be still functioning when our 2 month old son starts learning to ski in a couple of years time.

Love this
Loved this. Easy to use and comfortable for child. Love how strings have a bit of give to them with bungee. Had the MEC waist harness and thought this preformed much better for controlling turns and was more comfortable for child
