Amazing bang for the buck! (In depth review)
Alright, I will get into details in a moment, but if you want to know, this knife is OK, but when you take price into consideration, I am not sure you can beat it.However, that being said, Lets get into why.First off I received this knife less than a week ago, so this opinion may be subject to change with time. That being said, it was packaged nicely and feels solid out of the box (this does NOT come with a sheath apparently btw, but not a big deal for me since I wouldn't have used it.) now, I pulled it out of the box and it of course suffered from being just a bit stiff for my liking, I played around with it a while, and despite being stiff, it was clear that this knife WILL break in just fine and operate more smoothly after a little use and some opening and closing over the first bit of owning it. I, am an impatient person though, so I personally dissembled mine, put a teflon type lubricant over the tang of the blade and insides of the scales and put it back together leaving things just a little looser than they originally were to get a much smoother open and closing feel. In addition to this I left 1 of the springs out (1 of 2) that gives tension to the "axis lock" as I felt it was just a bit too stiff of springs for my liking, If you plan to do this, know that retention is not as good as with both springs, so depending on use, it may or may not be a good idea for you. personally, I don't have a lot of heavy duty tasks for my knives, so that added retention is not as needed. I don't consider the strong springs a design flaw, as I feel it is more personal preference, but it is certainly worth mentioning here.Without further a do, lets get into specifics. This knife is a copy of the (now discontinued) Benchmade H&K 14205 If you are against clone designs, you might as well move along, if you dont mind Chinese companies "borrowing" designs then read on, because this is actually a good knife!Obviously, this is made by the Chinese company Ganzo. This company I have been hearing more and more about lately and business practices aside they seem to create knives that are extremely good quality for the price.- The steel used is a 440c stainless assuming that the claims are true on the steel used, this is an ideal steel for this price of knife, it is affordable, but tough enough to hold an edge with a reasonable amount of stain resistance. Ganzo gets a big thumbs up from me for that. All that being said, I have heard some (more experienced) people say it is NOT 440c, but rather a steel with similar properties, either way, good steel for the price. No complaints!- next up, we have the blade of the knife. Mine came with a really nicely centered grind. I was a bit shocked to be honest for the price I was not expecting much. Maybe I got lucky, but it came out of the box sharp (not razor sharp, but acceptable) with a nicely finished drop point blade and clean swedge. I personally prefer drop point over other styles of blade, and I feel this one was was nicely finished and am quite happy with it. In addition to this the top has VERY nice gimping and can be easily have a wave modification done to it for additional opening options and even faster deployment (If you arent familiar with this, simply search "Emerson Wave"- Ok, so we know the blade is pretty good looking, especially for the price point, but how about the lock up? All I can say is wow! I am honestly surprised. when I got the knife out of the box it had 0 blade play when locked. No up/down. No Side to side! and it was usable, that being said I did loosen things for a smoother deployment and closing, so that gave it a smidgen of side to side play but nothing noticeable with every day use! I also feel that when everything is broken in better I will be able to tighten things up a bit more again and that will go away. 5 stars for you ganzo! that is well done! some people dont like however that the axis lock only engages a very small amount of the blade tang in the locked position, and it is true, however, feeling that lock up, it certainly doesn't feel like it will fail anytime soon, and I would think for most users out there it is nothing to worry about! Another thing I noticed with this knife is that sometimes the axis lock gets wedged against the blade just a bit too hard, making it hard to disengage the lock to close the blade (this can require 2 hands to close) however, it does not happen often, and I think if we just polish up the lock bar and the tang of the blade that it slides against, that issue will go away.- At this point I would normally talk about design, however, since it is a copy of another knife, we will not be talking too in depth here. It is a well designed knife, and a heavy knife weighing in at almost 5oz you can certainly feel it in your hand. this is due to the thick blade stock (almost 4mm) and non skeletonized steel liners. It does fit well in the pocket though, and even with it being a heavier knife, it seems to be perfectly practical for carry.- Fit & Finish... uhmmm, what can I say... I could easily mistake this knife for one that was twice or even 3 times the cost. The liners seem very well flushed to the liners, and everything is well put together. No complaints from me! All this being said, there are certainly lemons that come from Ganzo as their quality control is not as good as more expensive companies. Just exchange it if you do get a lemon because for $20 you arent going to beat this.- Retention and deployment... Like other axis lock knives, it relies on the push of the lock bar to stay retained. the pressure is perfectly reasonable. I have no fear of it shaking open in my pocket, but it is a lighter detente than when I first got it (due to removing one of the springs) Deployment is fast and works well, however, a note on that. If you are used to the little ball bearing style detent that is on a lot of knives, this detent feels a lot different, I cannot compare it to an actual Benchmade axis lock, but this one feels a bit more mushy than one of the ball bearing ones, that being said, it works well and operates differently, just something to note. All of the retention and such aside, I prefer to use the axis lock deployment method, which works smooth with this knife, the thumb studs are do-able, but located a little close to the G10 so you have to press more on the top of the stud, than on the side. All that aside, both methods are effective.- carry: This knife despite being a little thick and heavy for my personal preference this knife rides REALLY nice in the pocket. I would be surprised if anyone had major issues with the way this knife rides in the pocket. The pocket clip is similar to or the same as the Benchmade split arrow clip and very stiff, that being said, it is not overly stiff and grips perfectly to my pocket, 0 complaints here as well!Overall: For the sub $20 price tag you honestly cannot beat this knife! does it have its issues, sure, its a "cheap" knife, however I cannot think of ANY knife that has a greater bang for the buck (as of right now, subject to change). If you made it this far in my review, just add the knife to your cart now! Heck, add a few different ones! These would make a great "beater" knife, or great affordable gifts!Hope this review has been helpful!~Blades and Boom

So Far I like This Knife.
Wanted to try an axis lock without spending too much money so I took a chance on this knife and I do like it and will keep it. I may order some more as stocking stuffers. I am going to use and abuse it for a few weeks to see how it holds up.-The handles are G10 (gee whiz) material if that matters to you.-The blade is 430C which at one time was top of the line. It is now considered by many custom knife makers as a very good quality steel with strength and toughness. Corrosion resistance is good. I mention this because knife snobs only want "super steels". Most users do not need it nor want to pay for super-steel. It is great if you can afford it/have disposal income and can pay someone to sharpen it for you as needed. It is VERY difficult stuff to sharpen-Spring on the axis lock is brutally strong. It will tear up your thumb if you like to fidget with your knife as you surf the web. This stiff spring will keep the knife from easily opening up accidentally. --It hurts to use one thumb to open it as I am surfing the web. I use my thumb and index finger to depress the spring which allows the knife to be opened with a flick of the wrist. It is easy to do this way and does not require any unusual hand changing gymnastics-Thumb studs are in an okay position and I can actually get the knife opened enough to complete the opening with a wrist flick. It is a bit too large a knife for me to completely open the knife with some hand re-positioning.-There is slight blade wiggle left and right. Have to give it fairly hard push to get the wiggle. Not drastic but I will keep an eye on it.-I have had fairly good luck sharpening the knife after card board box cutting I have used the small hand held, ceramic rod built in knife sharpeners. Will slice through paper when done.-Fits very comfortable in my hand. It is a hefty knife but the weight feels right. --Finger grooves are in the right location --Jimping on the blade is perfect for pressing your thumb down on the blade as needed.I will update this as I use the knife. I will be watching for: -knife edge rolling -blade play (wiggle room) -axis lock durability -corrosion resistance

Buy it you won't regret it!!!!!!!
OverallI love these Ganzo knives. They are excellent.-Cheap-Good size blade and handle-Axis lock mechanism-Fit together very well, no mismatched wrongly shaped components-Handle components are good-The peace of mind that you can lose it, break it, chip it, hammer with it, let people borrow it, and only be out $20.-The fit, finish, and quality is totally unexpected for a $20.-Easily maintained blade, I sharpened it to razor sharp and it has held it really well.My axis lock has worked perfectly, the blade was sharp and free of scratches.I like to carry one of these around when I actually plan on doing some work with it. I'm not worried about breaking a tip, or gouging the blade.I've bought 5 ganzo's and every single one has been of the topmost quality. My advice pick up one now and then wait until you see a really good deal and pick up 3or4 more.the first 1 I bought was around $20. I found 2 more for $10. I found 2 others for around $13.Buy them abuse them, love them, and buy a new one.

Fit and finish are excellent. The blade is centered
The knife just arrived today, so this is not a long term use review. I am very impressed. Fit and finish are excellent. The blade is centered, the action is smooth without jerkiness. The lock was snug at first, but smoothed out after being used a few times. The blade came razor sharp and easily left bald spots on my arm. The handle scales are well done and fit to the steel very nicely. The gimping on the back of the blade is well done and gives a solid grip. This is an excellent value.

Toll verarbeitetes Messer

Jetzt schon mein Lieblingsmesser
