Shockingly amateurish CGI.
The CGI special effects, so-called, were terrible, specifically the blood spewed and splattered everywhere during the fighting in this movie which looked like a 3 year old spilled, or threw, uniformly red colored paint onto the positive print wherever it was needed more as an afterthought rather than as a well integrated and believable visual effect. Add the F-word overused by all of the macho bad boys in this mess and you have a very disappointing fare so much so that I refuse to purchase any of the other offerings in this four part series. Complete waste of money which is a pity because I love the Spartacus story. Too bad its production was so poorly managed.
