Laura has always believed children to be remarkable people with a great deal to offer the world and is proud to be blessed with the opportunity to reach them through the written word.Carly Dean is an illustrator, artist, as well as an art therapist with a passion for working with children. Carly is also the director of Art and Design Creations from CED. Through her artwork and illustrations, Carly portrays the emotional experiences of children as well as adults as they face life's challenges. Ultimately, it is a spirit of joy, bravery, and peace that Carly delivers through artistic expression in response to the worries of life. Carly has experience working within a variety of artistic medias including clay, paperwork, sculpture, drawing, painting, and textiles. In addition to having experience in many forms of creation, Carly also has experience working with many different people groups and with many different cultures. Children within school settings, teenagers facing emotional and behavioral difficulties, young girls and women survivors of trauma in Nepal, and adults with intellectual delay are some of the environments and peoples with whom Carly has shared the rich and rewarding process of artistic expression. Through her work with school-aged children in Italy, Carly gained a deeper education and understanding of communication with children through teaching and cross-cultural immersion work. It is this global vision through artistic language that gives inspiration to Carly's artwork and illustrations. As Carly is a Christian, she beliefs that we are all creative in many different ways as we have all been made by the ultimate creator who has formed so many different things. It is Carly's hope that in her work the attributes of truth, justice, purity, loveliness, and excellence are perceived and that these attributes will give to the viewer, adult as well as child, encouragement and hope.

Put this one on your library shelf!
Such a sweet book! Written in simple rhyme, the story of an adventurous boy who faces down his fears and chooses courage is appealing to children, but it is also an excellent reminder for adults that the only way to experience the abundant life waiting for us is to trade our fears for faith!I wish it were available in hardcover!

Excellent story and valuable lessons!
This was a wonderful book. It not only captured the attention of all of my children (ages 2-7), it also taught them a valuable lesson. We are going to face difficult or scary circumstances in life, but if we have faith, God will give us the courage we need to safely reach the other side. I highly recommend this book.
