An hourglass (or sandglass, sand timer, or sand clock) is a device used to measure the passage of time. It comprises two glass bulbs connected vertically by a narrow neck that allows a regulated trickle of material (historically sand) from the upper bulb to the lower one. Factors affecting the time interval measured include sand quantity, sand coarseness, bulb size, and neck width. Hourglasses may be reused indefinitely by inverting the bulbs once the upper bulb is empty.

Received broken item - The hour glass is very fragile and thin. Though bubble wrapped and tightly wrapped in polythene, the glass inside broke from middle. The white sand spilled all over with tiny broken pieces of thin glass. The glass is not fixed to the wooden ends and moves between the wooden ends. Little foam circular pieces are inserted between glass and wood to plug the gap.No wonder it broke. Requested a replacement, lets see whether unbroken item works as described.Update:The seller promptly replaced the product, it arrived a day earlier. Very happy with the product. It is timed to 5 min + few seconds. It is perfect. The wood, the brass give very good look. Giving 4 stars, 1 star deducted for the white sand that is not visible while flowing down. But, other than that, excellent product.

It's 3mins not 5!
Looks good and well packed. But time is not 5minutes as mentioned.. It comes to abt 3mins.. I bought it for writing practise for my son so yes I timed the sandclock..

WORST PRODUCT AND SELLER EVER
This is the picture of a replacement product I received after returning a defective one. This is exactly 2 seconds after opening the packet. I do not recommend this seller and product to anyone, you are better off making DIY sand timer than to purchase this and regret. Even if it was okay, the quality is average and not that great.Please do not buy this product.

Just a good show piece
The finish of the sand clock is good.Could have been a little bigger (just nitpicking)Purchased 2 of them -- 1 of them empties ~4 mins 40 seconds and the other takes ~5 mins 15 seconds.Since it is mentioned in the product description, it looks like the variation is expected.Overall, it is a cool looking show piece only!

Just go for it... I bought it on 12 March 2019 and today is 31 Oct 2020....It's quality is good.. Fast delivery and best quality.. Worth it
