Depression-era drifters Clyde Barrow (Warren Beatty) and Bonnie Parker (Faye Dunaway) embark on a life of crime. They crave adventure and each other. We were unprepared us for the cascading violence that would follow; we learn they can be hurt and dread they can be killed. The vivid title-role performances get superb support from Michael J. Pollard, Gene Hackman and Estelle Parsons, 1967 Best Supporting Actress Academy Award winner. It continually dazzles, thanks to director Arthur Penn, cinematographer Burnett Guffey (winner of the films second Oscar) and editor Dede Allen. Generations later, its still a thunderous, thrilling ride.

Not for morons into White Super Hero Nonsense.
Again, like f.i.s.t, not for White Middle Class Bourgeois Yankees, the I'm alright jacks, whilst the Oakies get kicked off the land, subjected to FAMINE (Yes, read grapes of Wrath you ignorant morons). Read Grapes of Wrath, and watch Bonnie and Clyde, and The Godfather. Understand Baby Face Nelson, the Dust Bowl depression. This film is an excellent exercise in the making of the American Working Class Consciousness, now sadly lost in race driven division. Yankeeland don't make films like this anymore. The white Yankee Middle Class prefer to dwell on Super Hero fiction the morons.

Still a Top Watch - but get the Bluray Version
This film is getting on for 50 years old now but still holds up well today. It caused a real stir when it came out in 1967 due to several violent scenes but from there on things became more and more graphic and the floodgates were open. The acting from all concerned is top class, the film won all the top awards, nominations were flying in all directions. The film’s budget of $2.5 million was turned into a worldwide profit of $70 million.I bought the ordinary DVD and I have to say that the quality of picture is poor – I wished I’d bought the Bluray version as this film is top notch.Beatty & Dunaway have starred in many top films but I think it’s true to say that they both fell short of reaching the very top.Like any film, this one takes a few liberties with the story lines but overall it contains most of the known facts. It's a first class watch and every bit as good, as I recall it from all those years ago.

I'M BONNIE PARKER AND THIS IS CLYDE BARROW -- WE ROB BANKS.
Magnificent film. Gripping from start to finish (especially the finish) say no more! Wonderful 1930's USA crime with all the 1930's cars to match. Boyfriend/Girlfriend bored with life go on the rampage with their personal introduction, i.e. "We rob Banks". Warren Beatty/Fay Dunaway both give stunning performances as do remainder of the cast. Best character in my book has to be "C.W. MOSS." Loyal to the Bank-robbing cause and first class car repairer as they gradually get wrecked!! As I said earlier the final scene will stun you; in 1967 it must have left audiences gasping; would be more acceptable now no doubt. If you haven't seen this film then you haven't lived as they say. Buy it now, sit back and be entertained beyond words.

personally it didn't age well
bonnie and clyde / Beattie and Dunaway, no it was touch and go whether they melled on the screen when i was just a sneaking in pretending to being an older kid. i can see now that there's still the story there to be told but they just didn't pull it off for me. I gotten wiser or maybe just grumpier.

Blu-ray review - This film deserves better restoration
This blu-ray is grainy in a lot of places and it's hard to imagine the original film was as poor as this blu-ray. Certainly this interesting film deserves a better restoration.
