MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust Muffler 12278: 3"/2.25" Inlet/Outlet, 5x8x18" Oval, Stainless Steel, Satin Finish

Don't get me wrong; I like Flowmaster's products and other chambered-style mufflers. But they just seem a bit too loud for passenger cars. I removed the main resonator and 2 main mufflers on my Lexus GS400, and the drone was just too bad, so I bought this unit and put it in the place of the original front/main resonator. After that, it goes through the 2 secondary resonators and out through straight pipe. The drone now is at a low level, and sounds sweet! Magnaflow's stainless products can be spendy, but as a technician, I've driven many vehicles with their mufflers, and the sound has always been nice. Remember that the length and size of your pipes affects the amount of drone, so you don't need to blame it on the muffler.

I installed this on my Dodge Ram and I love the sound. The only annoyance with this truck + the magnaflow was when the MDS kicked in on the truck. I thought this was going to be forever, but after the burn-in period, the sound is almost completely gone. This particular magnaflow is a direct fit for the dual exhaust Ram 1500.UPDATE: I forgot to update this sooner and it's been a year now...The exhaust has been on my truck now for over 10,000 miles and the sound is amazing. The truck no longer drones when the MDS kicks in...Somehow, the burn in period helps reduce this. I have bluetooth in my truck and I've never had anyone complain about cabin noise. Keep in mind that the Ram's exhaust pipes go all the way out the back, so you will not have as much noise as if you had a turndown pipe, for example.

I bought this for my truck (09 dodge hemi) and its got the right sound - opens the hemi and sounds mean under WOT but in daily driving I can still talk to my kids and wife. It does the job. One thing to note however, despite much research online saying the 18inch muffler wont drone, my findings is that it DOES drone and was a concern. However after a week, the drone grew quiet despite my expectations for it to get excessively loud. Dont get me wrong - Its still there but not nearly as bad as the first day...go figure. I also tow a 5500 Travel Trailer and the sound levels were acceptable to my liking.

Not too much to say here other than I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The Amazon price is less than half the retail.......add local install cost and you're still under retail. While I did like the stock sound....understated as it was.....this maggie is just so much better. At idle it's mellow, almost silent if I had to really look for a "negative". Any acceleration brings on a nice low rumble. Full-throttle really lights things up. I was kicking around getting a Flowmaster too.......hey, they're great mufflers too but I'm just very very happy with the maggie. I also got it from the wundercarparts folks too...great supplier!

I was hesitant at first but should have gone with my gut instinct long ago...This was the best move I could make for my 2011 Ram 1500...Deep growl when mashing the accelerator leaving a red light or passing someone on the highway...Highly recommend it...

Straight muffler swap on my '12 Dodge Ram Big Horn. Sounds great, nice low rumble on idle, but sounds mean when you get on it. Not too loud while cruising in cab, but you'll be noticed when pulling off from the red light. Combined with a K&N drop in filter and throttle response is quicker. These plus a flush hard bed cover and i seem to be averaging a 1-1.5 mpg improvement in gas mileage.

Not impressed by Amazon on this one. The inlet is defenately not 3 inches Id or od, it measures at roughly 3.25, it was also dented as soon as I opened it. This is before install, maybe once I adapt it and size it up I might change my mind

Excellent sound quality results. For 2010 6.0ft bed, this is not a direct replacement, some pipe-work does have to be done. I would recommend a muffler shop do the installation - cost me about $100, well worth it.

Sounds amazing , better than I hoped :) Great price too >> I had to pay extra to fabricate two hangers , and extend the outlet pipes as this muffler is shorter , still cheaper than buying the direct replacement fit ( although then it's a straight bolt on install in my own garage) >>

Sounds great on my 2009 Ram. Not too loud. Fit good with a bit of welding and cutting.
