It fit perfectly and the grate functions well on my Weber grill.

I find that these grates rust in about a year. The cost of replacing the grate is much less that replacing the whole grill! The fit is accurate - just like new!

Bought for my father. He likes it better than the original grates that came with his grill.

Great grate. It is cast iron and does not appear to have the high gloss Weber enamel coating. It is well packaged and the grates have a slight oily residue which ensures that they do not arrive in a rusty state. My first step was to season them, by applying vegetable oil (corn cooking oil works well) both top and bottom and heating it up hot (about 450 F) for a half hour or so. This converts the oil into a varnish and gives the grate a non-stick, easy-clean surface. For this, a stainless steel brush dipped in water provides a good steam clean.

The grates themselves are cast iron, but not porcelain coated as described . Thanks to feedback from a previous dissatisfied buyer, I received exactly what I was looking for and completely satisfied. Why Weber would decide to porcelain coat all grates (new and replacement) is beyond me. With proper conditioning, uncoated cast iron grates are far superior and will outlast any porcelain coated grate. Once a crack forms in porcelain, rust is inevitable and shards can transfer to your food.

First off, these fit perfectly and I kept them since they were still a nice saving compared to the Weber branded grates.The description is deceiving. These are clearly not porcelain coated. They are not at all smooth and shiny as shown in the pictures. I suspect they will be just as difficult to clean and maintain as the bare cast iron grates that come with the grill.
