Call upon the Ancient Spirits of Evil
Love it, Completes my Thundercats collection. The introduction of three new Thundercats as well as new villians in the Lunataks was a good move to diversify things up a bit, although the addition of Ma-Mutt could have been dispensed with. A whole second season with just the same old team and villains would have been tedious. The multiple episode stories written by Peter Lawrence are always better than the others - this set for example has the multiple episode story "Thundercubs" which is good. Lawrence always expands on the backstory or mythos more than any other writer. I find Snarf and his ilk rather annoying but the episode where Snarf is prisoner in Mumm-Ra's pyramid and manages to escape by calling on the "Ancient Spirits of Evil" to transform himself into "Snarf-Ra the Ever Living" had me cracking up.

And The Anticipation Mounts...
I just purchased Thundercats Season Two, Volume One; which will finally round out my Thundercats set, making my collection of the entire series complete! I bought the other three volumes (when I could afford them), but ultimately this was the one I always wanted. I was able to find the others, usually for a more than reasonable price, but finally I just had to give in and spend the $35 dollars (still a very decent price might I say) so that I could enjoy this wonderful show in it's entirety. The best thing about this volume (in my opinion) is the introduction of the new Thunderians, and my favorite Thundercat of all Bengali! Friday cannot get here fast enough! I've wanted this for so long, and now it's only a matter of waiting for it to arrive!!!! Thundercats Hooooo!!!!!!!!!

Prepare for plot recycling madness.
Ok, I love the Thundercats. Many people I know think I am crazy for this, but they don't appreciate animation as much as I do. And this series certainly deserves to be appreciated. That said, Season 2, part 1 of Thundercats on DVD is riddled with the same sound and video problems in the first couple of sets. Even so, it is still worth the buy.The introduction of new characters is fantastic. After watching the mutants battle the Thundercats fifty times, it is very welcome. What I don't like though is how many of the characters from season one become nearly non existent. The mutants pretty much disappear. Although, Mumm-ra calls on them occasionally to do his bidding and Vultureman trys numerous times to join the Luna-Tacs. While I am on the subject of things happening many times, I should probably mention how many times Mumm-ra switches bodies or takes on the form of someone and fools the thundercats every time. He does this at least once every couple of episodes. They always seem to be after some kind of artifact too. The Book of Omens, the keystone, the thundercats necklace, the gorgon mask, etc. They also enter the cave of time often enough for my liking. Also, get used to watching the Thundercats fight against each other. Oftentimes, you will see a combo of many of these things. One other thing I want to mention is how the plots become more ridiculous. Remember how hard it was to repair Lion-O's sword in season 1? Well, Bengali can easily repair it. Mumm-ra has a time machine and uses it very foolishly. Lion-O's sword seems to solve every problem. Finally, my favorite one is when Snarfer goes to get Mexican food.Lastly, I want to talk about the bonus features on these DVD's. I think they are not as good as part 2 of season 1, but certainly better than part 1. WB tried to do a music theme to these special features with the Rembrandts playing the Thundercats theme song. I have no idea why this was done, but it was interesting to say the least. They also did a little making of documentary on it and had an interview with the composer of the original Thundercats theme music that was informative.Overall, this set is worth buying, but be prepared for the same quality as the first discs with episodes that are not as good. The new characters add too much depth and the episode plots get recycled plenty of times. Still, it is a cool show that deserves to be watched. If you only watch one episode, make sure to see Hair of the Dog. You will get to see Snarf-ra, the ever-living.

THUNDERCATS... HOOOOOO!
Wonderful boxed set for the true Thundercat enthusiasts. Hubby went crazy when we found the whole collection here on Amazon listed for 24 a piece. We jumped on it and were so happy we did... because now they have doubled in price. The boxes are really nice and some of the sets even have holograms on them. They have been copied over very nicely. GREAT buy and would recommend it not only to 80's children but also to the younger generation.

Good older cartoons.
I got these for my grandson because I watched them with my son and I wanted my son to watch them with his son.

As good as first season
The cartoon as a series evolved in Season Two. Though their was less of a focus on teaching valuable lessons it still consistented of good morals which is basically the Thundercat Code. The story lines get deeper and more complex and the introduction of even more villians just adds to the story.I plan on owning the whole series. A must have for any amateur or higher dvd collector.

The best episodes
If you love Thundercats you should defently buy or 4 sets but this is probably the most memorable one. Has the 5 parter introducing the 3 new thundercats and the 5 parter that introduces the Lunataks. A great buy.
