Not quite as good as the solid sticks
Just seems to take longer to seal little nicks, but on the other hand it doesn't get all crusty and sharp.

Terrific little invention.
This stick works great at stopping the bleeding from nicks or scrapes. It'll sting a bit when you first put it on the wound...just be forewarned. The stinging doesn't last more than a couple seconds though...and it's not even that bad.I don't personally recommend touching the sponge-tip directly to your cuts. I'm sure the medicine in this kills off any germs, but it's still kind of gross for some reason to think of all my blood staining the tip. So I just dab my finger on the tip and then apply whatever is on my finger to the cut. (Just my little bit of advice.)For some reason this stick has seemed to leak out of the cap a little, so when I open it up again the medicine is all dried and crusted around the threads of the cap. It doesn't leak beyond that point, but I did think it was a little odd. Nonetheless, it's been a great asset...not just for shaving nicks but for other small scrapes and cuts. I'd definitely recommend it. (By the way, the last one of these I bought lasted me about 12 years.)

Good Alternative to Styptic Pencil
When I began wet shaving a while back, I looked into all the pieces I'd need. Someone strongly recommended liquid styptic over the traditional styptic pencil I had been using for years, so I gave it a shot. I've got to say, it works pretty darn well. I haven't needed to replace it in the year since I purchased it, so it goes a long way. It's quick and easy to use and doesn't leave the bright white residue like a traditional styptic. That being said, I think I still prefer the styptic pencil for larger nicks and cuts, as the liquid doesn't seem to stop the bleeds as well. If I'm in a real pinch for time though, I'll use the liquid styptic and head out the door, confident that I can lick my finger and quickly swipe away any residue that it did leave.Summary: Quicker than traditional styptic pencil, but doesn't stop larger nicks and cuts as well.

Good at stopping small nicks from bleeding.
I have to take plavix. I am clumsy. I bump into stuff and nick myself. Because of the blood thinner I take it is hard to stop the bleeding. I thought I would try this. It works on tiny nicks very well. Not so much on the bigger nicks.

Great product, quick acting, and good value
I take book thinners and any small cut will bleed. This wiks great for small nicks and cuts. Fast acting, and you can clean off the soft tip with cold water. Don't soak, just gently turn sideways and run under cold water and use your finger to rub the top clean

Application tip fell off
I got this on the recommendation of more experiences straight shavers. I like that it's a liquid applicator, so it's easy to use and you can dab it on instead of rubbing a cut with a pencil or powder. And the styptic itself works great and quickly stops minor cuts from bleeding and even works on some bigger cuts (it does have it's limits, though, lol)The biggest complaint I have is that the directions recommend cleaning the tip under cold water after each use. This step in and of itself I don't have a problem with, I completely see the need: the application tip is a sponge-like material and gets blood on it, which you don't want to just leave there. However, after the third or fourth wash, this sponge-like material fell off. The pen still works, it's just not as easy to get the styptic right where it needs to be and I sometimes end up with it applied to a much larger area than I needed while trying to get it where I needed it.If I can't find an alternative brand with a liquid applicator I would purchase this again, but if I do find an alternative I would try that before giving this one another shot.

Stops the bleeding almost immediately.
Stings just a little bit for a second but definitely stops the bleeding from a nick. You may have to apply twice but no big deal. Much better than having toilet paper plastered all over your face.

Great cut releif.
Brilliant cut releif. I bought a couple of these years ago, while on holiday in USA. When they eventually got too old been trying to get more. I even tried one recent trip stateside but to no avail. Came home and checked on Amazon, and wouldn't you believe it icangeett them here, easier than in USA and ate good price.Highly recommend these.

no good for me
I got this in the hope that it would be a cleaner and better option as compared to the styptic pencils...but it is not. It is less messy but it does not seem to stop bleeding as quickly as the pencils do.Also I find that with my EJ89 razor, I dont really cut my self anymore!!!

Better options out there.
This product works but it doesn't work any better than other products I have used. There is a permanently attached sponge at the end of the stick. There is a liquid which saturates said sponge. You use that to dab the cut. This also means that it will get stained with blood. This makes it gross for the following uses. A styptic pen can at least be rinsed to get the blood off it. I use this on myself only but that is quite gross.I have also noticed that my Alum block works just as well and it is very long lasting and is more hygienic.
