Norpro Dishwasher Safe Glass Baster, 2 oz

I've searched a dozen stores for a baster made with a glass-- not plastic, tube. Answer to a quest! And the bulb is firm, not a flimsy piece as the cheaper ones. This one will work well.

This glass baster is easy and effective, with good suction and capacity. The output is easy to control, so I didn't get turkey juice on the oven sides and floor. Most importantly, it will last. Every plastic baster I have gotten leaks along the side seam after one or two uses.

I love the glass baster, one piece construction and the draw bulb is made for heavy rubber. It washes well in the sink and air dries in minutes. It has decent suction for drawing but does drip a little so be ready for spills.

I have had a difficult time finding a baster that doesn't crack on the first time using it (the plastic ones are the worst!!). I found this one, as well as a stainless steel one, and decided to try them both. They're both great products that are more than able to handle the heat without breaking/cracking. The only thing that I had issues with about this one is the top is difficult to get back on after cleaning. It is very sturdy, which is great during use, but makes it difficult to manipulate to get back together.Overall, this was a great product that I would recommend.

Smaller than I expected, but works for extractions on a smaller scale

I purchased two of these right before Thanksgiving so that if one broke, I'd have a back up. I ended up just double fisting that mo-fo turkey so it reduced time out of the oven. Worked well, no complaints there. I love that the baster tube is glass. I didn't have significant problems with broth dripping out as mentioned in other reviews, but a little more than a little did drip out, but that happens with the other basters I've had. The only thing I don't like is that the rubber bulb stinks, literally and figuratively. The rubber is off-gassing something fierce and makes me leery of using it with food. It doesn't quite have the suction power as the old Oxo did and seems too small for the length and diameter of the tube, which may seem why it leeks for others. That said, I did buy two, I would buy them again but may look into Frankensteining the tube together with a bulb from a different baster. This would easily be a 5 star item if the bulb were larger and silicone. Happy roasting/meth cooking, or whatever the hell it is you folks that buy this with naphthalene and sodium hydroxide are making. Seriously, don't buy shit for making illegal stuff on Amazon unless you really enjoy jail. I suppose if you're using this baster for making drugs, this is easily a 4 star baster.
