Angel & Faith is my favorite comic series at the moment!
Last fall I finally decided to bite the bullet and watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I was not disappointed! I loved the characters (Spike and Xander being my favorite), the Core Four, the mythology, "Once More With Feeling", the witty dialogue, the fantastic effects and make-up, and of course the finale. Overall, Buffy did not disappoint! During Christmas break, I read Buffy Seasons 8-present and really enjoyed them, but up until this point I had not watched Angel or read Angel: After the Fall and Angel & Faith, so earlier this semester I corrected that wrong and Angel has now become one of my favorite shows. Angel spoke to me much more than Buffy did partially because I'm a guy but mostly because of Angel's attitude towards life and his goal to "help the helpless". Not to mention it took characters like Cordelia and Wesley from Buffy and made them into super-amazing supporting characters as well as introducing Fred, Gunn, Doyle, and others. The thing about Angel though, is that my favorite episodes of the show are when Faith showed up and when Angel became Angelus during Season 4 (though Spike joining the cast for Season 5 was the best thing they could've done for the show...). Just like Buffy Season 4, Angel Season 4 was kind of unbearable and almost made me stop watching, then Angelus returned for five episodes, and brought Faith back with her.Long story short, I read all of Angel & Faith Season 9-present and I LOVE this series! The first volume of A&F was brilliant because it took concepts from Angel, concepts from Faith's time on Buffy, and one of Buffy's most beloved main characters and crammed it all into one book. It would have been super easy for Christos Gage to simply just do an Angel book and put in Gunn, Connor, and/or Illyria alongside Angel for this roller-coaster ride, but instead he adds the OTHER Slayer, Faith Lehane, into the mix. A&F wouldn't be A&F without Faith. This is my only problem with the current A&F series is that Faith and Angel have separate stories going on at the moment with them literally just intersecting. Either way, A&F is still my favorite comic book out right now, and I'm currently reading Batman, Amazing Spider-Man, Justice League, Spider-Gwen, and Superman as a part of my normal reading list. IT'S THAT GOOD!Angel & Faith: Season Nine Library Edition Vol. 1 is an excellent buy. It includes Angel & Faith issues 1-10, the first two story arcs of the series, and is printed in a larger-than-normal-comic-size format, which is great when reading before bed. The volume is a hardcover book with the dust-jacket (as seen in the image for the product) and also includes a built-in bookmark, kind of like the ones you would see in a King James Version of the Bible. It definitely comes in handy as I am half-way through re-reading these issues and it's a lot more reliable then memory or putting a bookmark in. This Library Edition of Angel & Faith was definitely worth the money I spent on it (I pre-ordered it in October) and is worth my time to re-read over the course of the next week or so. I cannot wait for Vol. 2 of this Library Edition so I can collect the next three Angel & Faith arcs as well as the one-shot Spike miniseries Spike: A Dark Place! Until then, so long and keep helping the helpless!

I'd like to note that previously my favorite of the Buffy ...
I'd like to note that previously my favorite of the Buffy comics had been library edition 2 of season 8 but this one really captured me. It may be that these comics primarily focus on Angel, Faith, and Giles which are some of my favorite characters but it also manages to introduce some new monsters that are some of the coolest I've seen. These stories are driven by the past of the characters mentioned above and do so without that being the focus. There was some real character development here and..... It's hard to say more without spoiling everything. The dynamic between Faith and Angel is great, they're both learning from each other and if I wasn't dead set on Angel ending up with someone who won't die in 50 years I'd even begin pushing for them to become a thing. The art is really good, except for the Harmony issue which I felt missed Angel's face repeatedly(just mad him a block head) it's superb and captures the action very well. I like how all the Buffy characters since going comic book have picked up the super hero habit of leaping from building to building whenever they're roving around town. Side note, I often forget that all the characters are English and often give them voices in my head that don't fit, suddenly one of them will use some British slang and it doesn't really fit.... In closing, good art, good monsters, good.... nope great development, and just really really good

Best of the Angel comics yet!
Like Angel? Liked how the TV series was? Welcome to Angel & Faith! It's just like the TV series except it's exceptionally brilliant and done in graphic novel format. Like giant pages of beautifully drawn Buffyverse characters? I do! This was a great library edition to buy. I am so in love with this series.

Oh, so pretty and great stories, too!
*Book source ~ LibraryFrom Goodreads:The supernatural world is reeling after the loss of magic in Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8. The death of Buffy's mentor, Giles, at Angel's (possessed) hand has the vampire with a soul looking for a way to make amends. He's going to bring the Watcher back from the grave! Faith, rebel Slayer, is helping Angel with his quest, if only to keep him from going too far. But there's more keeping this duo sword ready: a set of demon twins, Angel's former guide Whistler, Faith's vengeful Slayer sisters, and the crazed vampire Drusilla!Wow. Just…wow. I love this volume and what a volume it is! It’s giganamous! According to Amazon it weighs 3.7 lbs and I don’t think that’s an exaggeration. I didn’t want to return it to the library. I vow I will own it myself someday. It’s so pretty! The artwork is gorgeous. Granted, I wasn’t always happy with the way the characters looked depending on who was rendering them, but it’s still a very visually appealing graphic novel. There are four stories in this volume: Live Through This, In Perfect Harmony, Daddy Issues and Women of a Certain Age. All are thoroughly enjoyable with my least favorite being the one about Harmony. I’m not a huge fan of that bint. There are references to H.P. Lovecraft, Doctor Who and Star Wars. Awesome! There are probably more, but those are the ones I caught (and remembered) on the first read. Also, Drusilla!! I love seeing her involved and hope there will be more of her in future episodes. I’m really curious about Pearl and Nash and I have to say, wtf Whistler?! Quite intriguing and I’m looking forward to Volume 2.Bonus stuff: sketches/gallery and bios. Nice!
