These are heavy duty, better than the factory originals. My first purchase of them lasted almost 6 years of frequent use., and they were just starting to rust through. Fit perfectly, and even the sharp corners are smoothed off now! I recommend them!

Just what I needed to help refurbish my Weber Genesis 1000 gas grill. Metal is definitely thicker than the last set of aftermarket replacement Flavorizer bars I bought so I am optimistic about their long life. Plastic protective covering was easy to remove. I wore work gloves when handling them (because I’m a wuss about metal edges) but they didn’t appear dangerously sharp (use reasonable care).

Exactly what we were looking for to replace the original bars on our Weber grill.

Product arrived much sooner than expected and the box belt HEAVY, which was reassuring. Inside the bars were well wrapped with a protective film along with a note to handle carefully that the edges were sharp. However it was clear the edges had been rounded off, which was a nice detail. Again, they felt heavy. How heavy? About 17%.After removing the protective film I wiped each bar down with a wax/grease remover to get a slight adhesive film that was left in spots...it wasn't much and I could have fired it right up without. Installation was easy and fit perfect. Installed they were absolutely beautiful.The heavier gauge seems to help with heat distribution and retention. Keeping the heat even and strong.Great product!

These are a great deal. They arrive well packaged. They fit my grill PERFECTLY, are a nice heavier gauge steel, and work as intended. Great buy!Stripping of the protective film: a bit tedious for so many bars, but nothing onerous. Would you prefer them to be dinged up from shipping? Sharp edges: these are steel stampings, what do you expect? If you wanted them beveled and buffed to protect your soft office worker hands, bring them to a machine shop and they will charge you for the service. Otherwise, put on a pair of work gloves, get out your metal file, and take 30-45 seconds per bar to dress down the two (2) edges on each bar that are SLIGHTLY square. I say slightly because they are not shaving sharp or even remotely sharp enough to cut the hand of a man that works for a living, but if the lady of your house will be handling them - or you are a softie metro dude - go ahead and give those two edges a light pass. Yes, only two of the twelve edges on each bar needed any work.Excellent product.

Also inherited a grill from my father-in-law, may he rest in peace. I originally put this Weber grill together for him around 20 years ago or so. Replaced the Venturi tubes several years ago, along with the igniter. This year, the flavorizer bars finally had to go. These replacements look great and are thick and sturdy. I'm very pleased with the purchase and thrilled to extend the life of this warhorse of a grill. Next stop: replacing the wood slats on the side and bottom, and repainting some day.

Got these flavorizer bars for my circa 1999 Weber Genesis Silver/B...or whatever- I have a wooden handle and shelves, all the newer ones over the last decade are plastic. The earlier models, like mine, had vertical bars as well as the horizontals that newer models have. Whatever the effect of them, these new bars allow my grill to heat up much faster than my old crusty porcelain coated ones. I can't explain why, but it's dramatic how much faster and hotter the grill gets now. I did purchase the SS cooking grills at the same time and degreased everything multiple times before putting it all together with new cedar wood to replace the aging/ beginning to rot wood. Grill looks great again and hope to get another decade from it. I'm still using the original burners which seem to have been made of SS and still looked pretty good. So, for a fraction of the price of a new grill, this newly refurbed one is awesome. BTW, I also have a fancy all SS Jenn-Air that I use for parties that sold at Lowes a few years back for $899, and it sucks big time compared to this workhorse!!....if it takes you 1hr to get the plastic off these bars you have bigger issues than worrying about the sharp edges, SHEESH!

June 11, 2015 Update: Changed to 5 stars since they are still working great. Some corrosion, but will not have to replace for at least 3 or 4 more years. Very Happy with the purchase.August 25, 2013 Update: I have now used these for almost 3 years and they are still in great shape. I expect them to last as long as the Weber made ones. This is turning out to be an excellent value!I bought my Weber in 1995. I think this is the 3rd time to replace the flavorizer bars. This is the first time to go with after market parts and not Weber.The good: These after market Weber Flavorizer Bars are more heavy duty than those provided by Weber, and about 2/3 the price.But... They have really sharp edges. You must be careful. The Weber bars are not sharp like this. Also, had to peel protective plastic off of each bar, there were 3 long strips on each, and most took a while to remove (remember the sharp edges). Finally, the bars are narrower than the Weber product. This means there is a larger gap between the installed bars. Not sure if this is a concern or not.Overall good value for the money.
