Obnoxious price tag in an otherwise fine lens
A general purpose compact prime lens that is very suitable for travel and street photography. it is fairly sharp if you step down f stop a little. Since it has oss it is also great for video works. Overall great for entry level Sony apsc bodies. But all those advantages become bleak when it comes to price. That is absolute blunder. Almost 2 years ago I remember this used to sell at 25k. But now it is worst. If you are just into photography go with sigma 30mm f1.4.

Excellent Lens But Unfortunately Overpriced
This lens is excellent overall. Some may say the Sigma 30mm is a much better option but I beg to differ. The Sony has OSS and a much faster and accurate autofocus system which ensures most of your shots are focused and crispy so you don't miss that special moment. On the other hand, the Sigma 30mm is slower (Slowest of the Sigma trio) and for some weird reason produces grainy images even at a low ISO, my guess is that this is what gives that sharp effect.Unfortunately, the Sony is too highly priced in India making the Sigma a better option by default.

Why is this so expensive
The lens is excellent. A bit soft at 1.8 but gets very good at f2 or f2.2. OSS works great. Its very small and lightweight making it a very good carry everywhere lens. But I am stunned at its pricing in India. The price is less than 30K in the US. Why are you selling this at about 10k more. The sigma 30mm F1.4 DC DN is better in every way than this lens (except it doesnt have OSS, and you mostly wont need it) and is priced at 28k in India. What makes you think you will be able to make a sale. If you say import duties; well let me remind you even Sigma lenses are imported from Japan.

Very good lens at a very high price
Excellent product , exorbitant pricing .Was available at 24000 2 years back , but not easily available now. Perhaps, not worth at this price.

This has become my PRIME Lens.
I have found myself turning to this lens as the default for just about everything… I love my vintage lenses and I have other great modern lenses in the kit, but this one is just simple, clear, fast, light weight, and small form factor. It’s just a great all around lens that performs well in low light and any other situations I’ve put it in.. Leaving the house I will make sure I have this lens on my camera body, and if I have room I’ll bring something else, but often times (lately especially) this has been the only lens I bring because I find I never really change it when I bring others along. Definitely recommend especially if you’re just building your kit and want to have a great versatile lens.

Buen lente.

defected
I used it for a day, but the stepper motor started to make a very weird noise while starting. Then I returned it, however I got an email from Amazon, that apparently, I broke the lens!!!
