Radius Garden 102 Ergonomic Aluminum Hand Weeder, Original Green

So, I have thumb & wrist issues that get cortisone. I also have a damaged/pinned ankle that barely bends, and use a cane mainly for balance and bending. So when I saw this, it seemed like it might help with my grip, but that digging the weeds out would still be super tough... Boy was I wrong with the last thought!!This thing actually feels nice in your hand so the way you can hold the tool isn't completely horizontal. The curved grip is bigger than expected, so I could choose how/where I wanted to hold it. Then I tried to dig up a large weed, in super dry/dense soil. Omgosh, this thing went into the ground WAY easier than I thought since I can only use one hand to dig and the other on cane for balance. & this is where I also really noticed the ergonomics of the tool. Not only does it cut into the ground without a ton of force, but the handle lets you bend it back pretty easy which raises it up. Some weeds were large and I had to dig around it in about 3 places. The roots come out as well. It was so easy and fascinating that my mom laughed me as I kept saying "wow" moving from weed to weed quickly.I LOVE this thing. After my first use I came back and ordered the whole set!

LOVE! Just received this and immediately decimated all the dandelions in my yard. The tool is serrated so it goes into the ground easily and you can twist it in the ground and cut the dirt on a circular motion around the weed and flick it out of the hole with the tip of the tool. It's wicked cool, makes me feel like a weed removing ninja.Ran out of weeds, didn't want to stop!Bonus- the serrated edge allows you to cut roots and vines.Also, so easy to hold! This may be my favorite weeding tool {garden tool} I've ever used.

Nice idea, but this China made product is poorly shaped and poorly finished. Crude in every way and remains to be seen how well it holds up.As for the handle it's hard to know how much of a handle has a metal core because the handle is completely covered in hard plastic,... so time will tell whether the plastic cracks or if the metal shaft extends up through the curve of the handle.If the handle is cheap plastic the sunshine will make the plastic more brittle and useless, throw away useless. Based on the rest of the craftsmanship I doubt the handle has a metal core and will simply break in a short time. I would not buy again.bottom line: Cheap Poor craftsmanship, totally unimpressive tool.. even the loose plastic packaging it came in was dingy and look like it came out of somebody's garage. Earns ***2-Stars***

I bought this for my husband so he could use it for metal detecting. At first it seemed OK- we had it for about 6 months, and then he tried to dig in the yard (was not putting a lot of pressure on it, and the dirt was pretty soft), and the metal part just snapped in half. Would not buy this again. I really liked the handle, but apparently the metal can't handle a small amount of pressure.

Thanks to previous reviewers, I haven't used this to pry rocks etc, so it has lasted well. Perfect for deep dandelion roots, blackberry roots, and so on. The curved handle is well designed so I can use my body weight to push straight down into the ground. I go on three sides before extracting weed. The bright color makes it easier to find in the back 40. Has kept our property weed free this year with less work than I thought it would...and easier on my conscience than using herbicides.UPDATE: We've had this weed digger for over a year now, and we still like it -- so well, in fact, that we just ordered another one, for when we are both weeding at the same time. Over the past few years we've been removing invasives in our back 40 and replacing with native plants. As a result, it has become so inviting back there that weeding is actually kind of pleasant now.

I bought this April and used it several times. It was very handy and I really enjoyed it. In early October I was trying to get a weed out and it snapped clean in half. I thought it was just one of those things and was glad to know that there was a lifetime guarantee to replace it.Radius was very nice and for about $4 mailed me a new one. The very first time I tried to use it again on wet soil the new one snapped and I almost hit myself in the face.Great if you need to go about 3 inches into the ground. Not great if you need to go any further I guess. I'm really sad about this not working out.

Purchased because it was recommended for people who have arthritic hands and mobility issues. They have other tools as well, but because they are on the pricey side, I thought I’d start with one item. It seems well made but I’ve not worked it to much since I’ve had a “stand up garden” made because arthritis pain is so bad, I can no longer bend over. But again, it is recommended for people with mobility, arthritis and hand, wrist & arm challenges so if I find I need other tools with my stand up garden, I’ll most likely purchase this brand and line of products, anything designed to lessen arthritis pain is a win in my book!

This was purchased to replace my original Radius Transplanter which had snapped - twice!The erogonomic design of this product is a god-send an makes weeding and general gardening hand digging / trowel work a pleasure to do.I compared the metal of this to my old one and noticed that it appeared t be different in it's appearance - not shiny, like other Radius products I have purchased in the past. I was disappointed that despite ordering the Lime Green model, I ended up with a different colour entirely. It however performs the same function.

Have had what we call “poinkers” for years and love them but this one is just amazing. A longer blade, that is really strong, saw type edges and can be used as such but makes weeding or planting so much easier. The handle is so comfortable even with my arthritic hands - literally the best I have come across and everyone should have one. No wonder it has won awards - if I could score it 6 stars I would.

This trowel is really useful, I find it so helpful as I have shingle from shoulder into my hand and fingers, at least with this trowel I can be of some help in the garden, I have the little fork as well, wouldnt be without these tools, thank you.

My daughter bought me a set of these tools as I have arthritis in my hands and these are so much easier for me to Use. However even without arthritis she has discovered that they seem to dig much deeper so now I have bought one for her!

This is a really good tool, the handle/design makes it very comfortable in use and the weight means that it suits every gardener - young/old, male/female, whatever. Very sturdy, too.
