They are probably an inch long by maybe 3/8" wide. They're great. I use them all the time. I'm not sure what I would do without them. I've bought a few packages of them.

Yes, they keep the work in place, because they stopper the beads in the cord or elastic cording.

Q: Would these make a crimp or bend in fine wire/tigertail or beading silk?

The large ones will make a crimp so you should use the small one in fine beading wire and silk.
