The flavor is rich
I use this as a daily coffee, although I usually switch type every couple of days, it is becoming one of my go to coffees

Good, but not great
Better flavor than available K-pods, but as great as fresh roasted and ground should be.

Good coffee
I am trying this Colombian supremo along with Kirkland Colombian supremo. This is better than the Kirkland, mainly because it is medium roast whereas the Kirkland is too dark a roast. The Kirkland leaves an acidic taste in the back of your mouth for hours. I have read that dark roasts often hide inferior flavor and this seems to be the case. Screen 18 organic coffee lacks a good aroma - you think it will be disappointing in flavor too, but the flavor turns out to be quite mild and fairly rich. I realize now that I dislike dark roast coffee. It verges on burnt with Starbucks being one of the worst offenders. So this is a descent coffee, just not as good as Melitta Colombian Supremo (5 pound bag) which, for some reason, is not currently available.

Quality at a reasonable price
I have lived on a coffee farm in Kenya for many years. I know how highland Arabica coffee is cultivated and processed. Very labor intensive. There are two main types of coffee: Araibica and Robusta. Arabica growes best a high altitude. The farm that I was on was 8,000 feet above sea level. Robusta can be growed at low altitudes. Arabica trees are noy tall and require pruning and mulching. Harvest at prime condition by hand. Robusta trees grow tall and not pruned much. Labor requirements are minimal, just pick up the berries. Arabica coffee is mild compared to Robusta which is often used in instant coffee. Coffee originated in Ethiopia and when you go to a rural home in Ethiopia coffee will be roasted, ground, brewed and served to you as you socialize with the family.

It’s smooth but not very strong
I like the smoothness but had to add a stronger blend to it

Darker than others roasted in this variety
Delivered quickly and beans were freshly roasted. This selection is a darker roast. Scale: 1 green - 10 Dark French: This is a 7.5 like a good Italian roast. Oils visible present on large AA beans. All tasting from French Press, course grind. Aroma: Pleasant not woody. Flavor: Has complex flavors of berry, wine and some caramel that compliment from the darker roast. Those looking for more of those subtle flavors should try a lighter roast. Mouthfeel: smooth and enjoyable with nice balanced acidity as expected from this variety. Pair with: Shiitake mushroom gouda cheese omelette and sourdough toast.
