Motion Sensing Solar Powered 60 LED Dusk to Dawn Security Flood Light

I purchase this light after previously having two older model. The newer model had a longer battery and uses Cree led I was told. When I got this new light I noticed that I stopped working several days later. I emailed the company which sent a replacement light. With the new light the same thing happened. I emailed the company and found out what happened. Apparently if the battery is used up the light can't be recharged. I suspect this is a problem that other users had when their unit stopped working. So big warning, don't let unit be place in an area where it can't be charged. Once the battery is drained you need a new battery. This should have been in the box. One thing though is that the customer service rep fron this company was great. When the replacement unit stopped working they sent me a new battery.

"This light was a pleasant surprise because it is actually brighter than I thought it would be. I needed a bright light mounted on our garage and positioned to shine down on our driveway to help deter possible vandalism because sometimes our cars are parked outside during the night. This light was very easy to mount and it lights up a large area where our two cars are parked side by side. I have tried using it in both of the operating positions. One position stays on all night with dim lighting and then it brightens up if there is motion, and the other switch position only comes on very bright if there is motion. Now, I have it set in the position where it comes on only when there is movement. It is very bright and I am really quite pleased with this light! So far it seems to be a good quality product. If the battery lasts as long as they claim then I will be very pleased. Already I am thinking about purchasing more of these lights for other locations around our house".

I purchased one of the older ones a couple of years ago, and we really liked it, but it finally quite a few weeks ago. I dug all over until I found what we had purchased before and ordered this one because it is supposed to be improved. However, this one won't turn completely off for a true motion sensor light (it'll dim, but won't shut off), and I don't believe it's "enhanced and improved". According to the description, this is an improved model over the previous EE860DDC version. However, when I received it, the Model # on the box is EE860DDC(B)-the (B) is for black, and if this was the 'plus' model, the model should be EE860DDC(BP)-the (BP) is for black plus. I don't believe this is an improved version, but if it is, then I must have received a faulty one.Why is it that when things are "enhanced and improved", they never work as good as the older models...

This seems a substantial light source...well build with big solar array and good light output even when on low light. The unit seems well made with things that can go bad are easily accessible (e.g. the battery is inside a compartment that can be easily accessed via a quick connect, amazing at this day and age!)However the lamp died quickly...and of course outside the return period of one month.It seems the battery is the culprit, though the light was mounted on the south side unobstructed. (the included battery was dated 2013-12-13 on a light purchased Feb 2015...seems a proprietary 12WH 3 cell element with a quick connect, current voltage remaining is 2v measured on connector)

Worked great for about 2 weeks, now the light flickers all night then shuts off. Engineers need to go back to the drawing board on this one. I bought a similar solar light that is much more reliable and cheaper. Sorry, but can't recommend this product at this time. Update to this review. After several attempts to contact the company to correct the problem with the light we still have a light that does not perform as described by the manufacturer. The light has been pulled down and will be replaced by another brand of light that has been very reliable and much cheaper than this product. Waste of money!Final update to this review. Received a replacement, upgraded model from eLEDing and the light has performed as expected. After 2 months the light is working well. Good light. I would give the upgraded model a 4 out of 5 stars.

I loved this light for about 3 weeks. I was even going to order some more but then it stopped working. I contacted Amazon customer service which is always exceptional and returned it for a refund.Update. Before I could return the light to Amazon, the vendor contacted me by phone. They wanted me to be happy with my purchase and arranged to replace the faulty light with a new one. They sent me a new light with instructions to return the bad one in the box that the new one was in. I was very impressed with this great customer service and the fact that they did not require the bad light be sent back first was quite impressive. This new light is still working perfectly and I absolutely love it. Highly recommend.

I bought this "upgraded smart" version of the light because I have one of the older units. The old version has worked good for a couple years. This new version only lasted a week before it started flashing on and off and then quit totally! I've been emailing back and fourth with the company and they sent me out a new battery to try. That didn't fix it. Now they want me to send it to them to have it checked out. So, it's gonna cost me another ten bucks to ship this thing across the country. Very disappointed. It's past 30 days so I can't return it to Amazon. It's a shame because although they aren't real bright, I do like the old one as it performed as advertised. I would not recommend this new "smart" version.

Mine (idiot me, I bought three) started breaking a week after Amazon's return period (30 days I guess).The neat features, replaceable batteries and gasket sealed openings sounded pretty darn great.But now a new (broken) [non]security light is mounted high up on the side of my house and it is actually pretty darn horrible.Sadly the features never worked consistently from unit to unit out of the box."Smart on" did not work on one unit, but I tested side-by-side too late, so tough luck for me.Caveat emptor, friend.
